Fantastic Book
After buying Dig Dig Digging and that going down a storm with my 2 year old we decided to by this book to try and give us a break from reading the same story every night. Its not just about trains, its about all kinds of transport so the front cover can be a bit deceiving. He loves it, but we now have to read this one and Dig Dig Digging so it back fired on us a bit!The pictures are great, the rhyming is great - a definate must for any transport lover!

Great book
I bought this book for my son who is 10 months. He already had did dig digging and emergency. He loves all three books and wants me to read them over and over. He loves the big bold colourful pictures and repetitive words. A huge hit. Definitely recommend. Perfect for bedtime as not too long and the last page of the book (as with the others) is set at nighttime.

Choo Choo Clickety Clack
On first read I wasn't bowled over by this book as it seemed a little repetitive, but it has really grown on me over the many re-reads that my 2 year old has demanded. It is unusual for a children's book in using a non-rhyming, but never the less 'poetic' style of writing that relishes language and sound. I think this is part of what keeps the interest over many reads, as opposed to a more conventional rhyming pattern. At the same time the repetition of certain phrases makes it easy for a young child to remember and repeat. The subject matter of transport is what initially attracted my train-mad son, but again there are some unusual departures from the norm; not just cars, buses and trains but cable cars, hot air balloons and ferry boats. The illustrations are bold and colourful but with lots of detail to talk about.

Very Happy Parent
My 19 month old son absolutely loves this book, it makes great reading. We have been reading this since he was a year old and its one that he goes back to time and time again. The pictures are bright and colourful which hold his span of attention. A good book all around! We also have 'Dig Dig Digging' which is another one of his favourites.

The story in itself is nice enough; it's pretty simple and some of the wording is a bit odd, but the rhythm and sounds of it seem to really appeal to younger children (toddlers). My main gripe with this is that the book says something along the lines if "great stories for boys" on the front. Seems incredibly out of touch in today's society...

Love love love this book!!
I bought this after my 2 year old son fell in love with '999 Emergency' in this range. Clikety Clack has taken over as the favourite and we have to read it every night. It is bright colorful, and has all types of vehicles in it, the drawings are great. Definitley a favourite in our house. My 4 year old daughter loves it too.

Again Again Again!
We've had to renew this book three times from our library for my vehicle obsessed 3 yr old - he just LOVES it. As with some of the other reviwers I was not totally taken by the book to start with, but there is obviously an appeal to the toddler/pre-schooler with the subject matter and the simple, bold and colourful illustrations coupled with the very clever use of language. My 3 yr old can, as they do, recite the entire book (mind you given the nuber of readings so can his parents!) and the inventive use of sounds is certainly a welcome change from brum brum goes the truck...
