Fabulous but, hide the hammer 😂
My grandson loves this - especially the hammer😂! I've had to hide it to save the doors and glass in my kitchen door!! He now plays with the hammer under supervision. This is a great toy, not only for the younger ones but as they grow they can make shapes and structures learning how to use tools as they go. I can see this being used for many years to come.A little pricy but worth it for the quality of the product. Vibrant colours that attract their attention and the colour does not come off or fade. Would recommend.

Lovely wooden tool set
This is wooden role play and dexterity toy is delightful. The wooden toolbox is the perfect storage medium for the rest of the pieces, and the set comes simply shrink-wrapped with a Melissa and Doug paper label. The set is well-made, with robust and safe wooden pieces that have been well-finished. My little nephew loves his wooden toys, and this is a great addition to his collection. The set includes little wooden nuts and bolts that can be connected through the sides of the caddy, as well as tools for tightening, banging, and sawing. I really like that the set features a mix of lightly varnished pieces that retain a real wooden appearance, and child-friendly brightly coloured ones.I picked this up on sale at £7.50 (and regret not picking up another couple to use as presents) but the quality and size of the set does justify the RRP.

Super robust, great fun and great value
This set is really robust and chunky, the wood is all smooth and it takes a real hammering (literally!). The bolts and screws have been bashed and biffed and they are still in near perfect condition after 2 months of being battered by my 3 year old boy. The bolts/nails can be quite tricky to remove from the box when they are hammered in, but a good pull gets them out. The screws/bolts are great, very tactile and easy to screw/unscrew. And my favourite is the saw and the 'wood' (the yellow blocks in the photo). They have velcro on them and when you put them together you can 'saw' them apart. My boy loves doing this. Definitely one to recommend, it's great value for what you get.

Good first toolkit
I chose this small kit for my little granddaughter because I wanted something sturdy, non-plastic but small to store. Granddaughter's eyes lit up when she opened this gift. She immediately began hammering the peg 'nails' into the holes in the toolbox - so its function was obvious to her, and the sizing for little hands is perfect. I think she will find it frustrating before long that she can't actually construct very much with it, but it's a great start for developing co-ordination skills. The kit is nicely coloured in a mix of natural and primary colours. Everything is very sturdy, except the spanner, which seems a little flimsy. The screwdriver fits well into the screw slots. A couple of the peg holes in the toolbox were left with a splintered finish which had to be sanded off - unacceptable in any product, and especially in a small child's toy, but not a deal-breaker given that it was easily rectified and the child loved the kit so much. The screwdriver handle had a slightly rough, not polished, feel to it,but nevertheless no lurking splinters. Had all elements been properly finished, I would have given this kit 5 stars.

good quality and versatile toy
Although there are not many pieces (e.g. only 2 'nails'), we have found that our toddler (19 months when bought it and now nearly 23 months) has played with this EVERY day since we got it for him. He loves the tools and has found different ways of playing with the various components. He couldn't screw the bolts into the 'nuts' to start with but has now mastered the 'turning' involved...he loves the size of the box and that he can load it up and carry it around the house. The tools have not broken even though they have been sorely tested! We will be getting him extra parts when he is old enough to actually try to make something. A good quality toy with good potential for free play. Very pleased.

Nice idea but doesn't quite work
It's just not very engaging, with limited possibilities. The idea is good just somehow doesn't work in practice. The pegs don't knock in very far at all, meaning there's little point in using the hammer, the screws are needlessly long and fiddly, whilst being a little limited in application. Seems well built though. Would work as part of a wider collection perhaps?
