What is the shelf life for these filters ?

That depends on how much water you filter. You can filter about 2,000 litres per filter candle (i.e. 4,000 litres for 2 filters). After this they will not remove chemicals and metals well but will continue to remove dirt and bacteria.

If these are ceramic filters and being ceramic you can gently clean them to keep the filtration going then why do they need changing every 6/9months

Hi kerryWhen you clean a ceramic filter all you are doing is washing away the sediment which blinds the outer pores so the water struggles to flow through, cleaning the makes the flow greater again. This has no effect on how long they last which is determined by bacteria build up and the media inside the filter being exhausted of usefulness over time usually 6 months.Hope this helpsRegards john

If you mean reusable, I don't think so. If not, the ceramic part is recyclable, and the plastic part...bah it's plastic!

Hi, I have just fited these new filters and they are taking about 12hrs to filter the water. The old ones only took an hr. can anyone help pls.

When they are new they take longer for the first few runs I think they take awhile to fully absorb water. After that I found it took about 4 hours or so and I just filled it up every night .Hope that helps.
