I love using this when hiking.
This is a great hydration size for hiking. Even if you don't fill it completely because you don't need as much water it works great. The bladder is good quality and seems durable. I like that you can remove the straw to clean which makes it easier to clean and use. Fits multiple backpacks.

Excellent
I ordered a 3L, received 2L. Going on a scheduled New Years Day hike and had to have a water bladder. So I can work with 2L. That is why I did notReturn. I had a 3 L and then out of the blue itStarted leaking . Leak must have been microscopic as I could not locate it. Osprey products are superior quality and I wouldHighly recommend any of their products. Since I was in a time crunch toGet a new water bladder for my hike I did not contact Osprey until I had received this one from Amazon. Their products have lifetime warranty and they sent me another water bladder FREE. So I now have a 2L and 3L for longer hikes. The bladder is excellent and I highly recommend! Easy to clean, fits exactly as should in Osprey backpack.

First Hydration Pack—and It’s a Winner
This was my first time buying or using a backpack-style water bag, and I went back and forth between several brands since I wasn’t familiar with any of them. Glad I landed on this one. It’s clearly designed by people who actually use these things. The layout is smart, it fit perfectly in a generic pack I picked up, and I especially love the bite plug—works perfectly and doesn’t leak. For a first-timer, this was a great pick. Super easy to fill with the squeeze wide mouth opening.

Horrible plastic taste
This is well designed bladder that’s easy to fill and clean, and the quick-detach works great! However, it has a horrible plastic taste that persists despite many attempts to get rid of it, so is unusable for me. I have always loved Osprey bladders and have never had a problem with bad taste until this one.

Reliable Hydration on the Move – Osprey Nails the Details Again
The Osprey Hydraulics Backpack Water Reservoir has completely changed the way I stay hydrated on hikes, bike rides, and long travel days. Osprey's attention to detail and build quality shines through in every part of this hydration system, making it one of the smartest purchases I’ve made for my outdoor gear setup.Built for Real-World UseThe design is intuitive and trail-ready. The wide Slide-Seal top makes it super easy to fill and clean—no more awkward spills or wrestling with narrow openings. It seals tight with no leaks, even when tossed into a pack with other gear. The rigid backplate keeps the shape flat and low-profile inside my backpack, which prevents bulging and makes packing simple.Durable and Leak-FreeI've put this reservoir through the wringer—hot days, rough terrain, overstuffed bags—and it still performs flawlessly. The high-quality TPU material is tough, flexible, and doesn’t leave any strange aftertaste in the water. The quick-disconnect hose is a small detail that makes a big difference when refilling or cleaning.Smart, User-Friendly DesignThe bite valve delivers a strong, steady flow and seals well with a simple twist. The magnetic sternum clip is a brilliant touch—it keeps the hose accessible without it flopping around.Cleaning is hassle-free thanks to the wide mouth and detachable parts.Perfect Pairing with Osprey PacksIf you already use an Osprey backpack (like the Daylite, Talon, or Atmos series), this reservoir integrates seamlessly into the hydration sleeve. But even in non-Osprey packs, it performs just as well thanks to its slim profile and robust build.

Nice improvements!!!
I purchased this same bladder years ago (2018 ish?) and only just finally blew through it (my own fault, not a manufacturer issue). I didn’t even question purchasing the exact same brand. I love the new look and feel to it, my only 2 complaints are: it’s just slightly longer than the old one, but it’s not an issue and that the inner bladder has a “divider” which I can see making it harder to clean. I may purchase the osprey cleaning kit that has the thing that keeps it open to dry properly. Other than those, I like that the top really seals itself now even before you close it. I love the new flow options on the mouthpiece that allow you to select gradually open, all the way, or totally closed. It seems more sturdy than the old version and I’m confident it will hold up for years, just like the last one.

Solid Product Despite Some Lingering Plastic Taste
This is a well built hydration reservoir with nice features for the user. We got 3L reservoirs for my husband and I and 1.5L reservoirs for my two young kids. We have taken them on several hikes so far and they are easy to fill and easy to clean due to the wide opening that spans the whole end of the reservoir. I have had no issues with leaks and the wide opening makes it easy to dry the reservoir if you can force the mouth to stay open. I recommend buying a hydration bladder drying frame, which are inexpensive and make this much easier. The reservoir seems durable so far and survived getting kicked around a muddy kayak without damage. The hose and bite valve are nicely designed and, so long as you remember to flip the shut- off valve, protect from leaks. The hoses are a bit more difficult to clean and dry, however. I bought a specific cleaning kit with a brush for the hose. One con of this reservoir is that, even after several uses, there is a plastic taste to the water. This doesn’t bother me too much but does bother my daughter quite a bit.The 3L fits well in my Gregory Maya 20L pack and in my husband’s Gregory 28L pack. One note, however is that the Osprey reservoirs do not fit on the Gregory packs’ integrated reservoir hanger. This is easily fixed with a rubber band however and was worth it to me for the ease of use of the Osprey reservoir. It does hang on my kids’ REI packs’ integrated hanger. The reservoir itself is super light weight so it doesn’t add much to the weight of the water itself. Lastly, I really like the handle on the reservoir, which makes it easier to hold steady when filling.Overall, a great hydration reservoir and we’re happily hiking with you purchase.
