Really good quality non-OEM lens hood
I've not used the Canon equivalent but this feels really well made and fits the lens perfectly. I can't see myself paying the price of the Canon version, TBH.

Good value and does the job
Like the lightweight of the item and value for money. One very tiny thing, you need to find where it sits on yr lens, as not obvious when you turn it to fit. Once you make a note, it fits on fine, i like the product and would buy again should i need too.

JJC Lens Hoods are on almost all of my camera lenses.Canon do not always supply lens hoods with their lenses, which means you have to buy your own.These JJC Lens Hoods are of equal quality to the genuine Canon hoods at a fraction of the price.

A bargain and well made
This JJC lens hood is well made and fits the lens without difficulty, and of course helps shade the front element of the lens from side lighting. The last factor that keeps me buying equipment from this company is that their products are far cheaper than the lens maker lens hood.

A quality item and less than half the price of the Canon equivalent
I took a chance and bought this in favour of Canon's own branded version - mainly because it was less than half the price - and it proved a good decision.Apart from the engraving on the top saying JJC instead of Canon, I wouldn't know this wasn't a Canon product. It seems well made, has a quality appearance, fits on to the lens easily but securely both ways round. An earlier review reported that he found it very tight when reversed, which mine certainly isn't, so it seems they may vary, so I'd suggest that if you get one that doesn't fit just right it may be worth returning it for another.It's rather shallow (like the Canon equivalent) because it has to cater for the 18mm end of the zoom range but it will probably help - at least in some situations. If nothing else, provides good protection for the lens against knocks.
