We discovered this wonderment at California Roots Music & Art Festival in May this year. Backstage in the artist area there was a booth for La Republica Coffee where we met one of the founders, Mark Merthe who just happened to be serving samples of his creation. I bought La Republican Mushroom Coffee because I tried a sample package and it really really works. I know that the mushroom content is what makes me more energetic and alert. No 3 pm drowsiness, it lasts all day. (Generally caffeine in coffee has little to no impact on me. So I know it’s the mushroom effect! ) I also like that it is organic and tastes really good! It tastes like high quality coffee, really. I did not detect a mushroom taste. My order came with 2 plastic containers each with 35 servings, a cute little spoon and 2 coasters. Nice touch!

My first impression was that it has a very instant coffee like taste, and the container was very small. As you can see, there is about an inch or more to the top of the jar so it’s not even filled up. I just opened this and only used one tablespoon so far . I do think that 1 teaspoon is not enough to add to make a decent cup. I think it would last about 3 weeks if I had to guess .I started off my mushroom coffee quest about three weeks ago, and bought Ryze. I really do like that one, it’s less coffee like, says it has 20000 mg of mushrooms and has been great on my digestive system . I think it has less caffeine than this one though . Ryze is more earthy and smooth . Out of the two that I have tried , I think Ryze is better overall quality and feel like it most likely has more medicinal benefits, I can’t find the mushroom contacts on Republica de coffee, anywhere, only the caffeine content.
