This lotion does as it says and adds a bit of color. I'm pretty pale and freckled, and the medium to tan shade works well for me. As with any self tanner, you'll want to be careful around knees and elbows and make sure to exfoliate as needed. I was worried this lotion would have the typical self tanner smell, but it has a pleasant coconut smell that is pretty light and fades well.My only gripe is that I wish the consistency was slightly thicker, like regular lotion. It's slightly runny, so just be mindful of that when squeezing from the bottle. Otherwise, it's a great lotion and gives you a nice bit of color. No orange or fake tones, either.

I have tried so many self tanners. I love this!! It is so easy which is what I'm looking for at this time in my life. It DOSE NOT STINK!! it is fool proof if you're just starting out. I used this for 2 1/2 weeks before having just a little fading on one arm which happens with all of them(only faster),and I do dishes daily wash my face with water running down my arms (yuk) and shower daily so I was extremely happy about that. Also once I got to the color I wanted I would just put it on mixed half and half with my normal body lotion every 3rd day. I can't find a gradual tanner I like better.

I am a very pale person with very sensitive skin. I got the "Fair to Medium" lotion, applied some all over in the evening, and let's just say I fell asleep looking like Kirsten Dunst, woke up looking like Eva Longoria ;-) But in all seriousness, I was surprised by how quickly the tan started to develop. The next day I could wear shorts without feeling like I was walking around with pasty-white legs. It definitely gives you a natural, glowing tan!After the second application, I decided to rinse off the lotion after about 6 hours because the tan was developing a bit too quickly, and I wanted to take it slow to get the right shade. One area on my arm was streaky, but I think it's because I was impatient and didn't spend enough time blending in the lotion. I'd highly recommend this product! No complaints about the scent. It's got a very faint tanning lotion smell, but not nearly as bad as the stuff we used in the early 2000's. (Not as strong as Jergens.)

OK, so for illustration purposes, I specifically did not do the top of my hand and this is the medium that I purchased and I absolutely love it. Of course I’m going to go back and gradually apply to the top part of my hands so that it blends in, but I really wanted to write a review Showing the difference. I don’t recommend buying medium for people who are very, very very light in color because it will end up turning your skin orange… I would definitely use the light and gradually work your way up to medium if that should be the case in your future. I am in love and obsessed with this. I have Olive two medium white skin so I had to go with the medium And everyone thinks I went on vacation and got a tan. It’s more of a bronze color, which makes it look more realistic. I did not turn my skin orange, but I have to go over some touchups because I wanted to do it this way to be able to write a good review to give people a more in depth view of what it looks like and I specifically waited a week before writing a review for this reason. I have to be honest… This is darker than what I was doing more, but I added the medium drops to this product and ended up with a darker result, but in hindsight… I’m glad I did because it’s amazing in color and it does not stink, it does not stain, there is no orange, but rather a brown bronze color. I recommend.

I boast about this lotion to all of my friends! It is the BEST tanning lotion for fair skin that doesn't look super orange and doesn't stain anything! I don't even have to put it on every day, I can use it once a week and still keep a solid glow!

I’ve used this 3 days in a row and so far my color is perfect! Not orange at all, didn’t stain my hands or cause streaking. Very happy with the ability to build the coverage you want. Also great on sensitive skin, smells good too!

I love this gradual tanning lotion. Looks great and the smell isn’t that bad. But DO NOT use it everyday! If you do you’ll be orange.

It does what it says and it is easy to use. You just have to make sure you really rub it in and you won’t get any steaks. I did notice if you use for 3-4 days consistently it starts to look orange. So I would just go for the darker shade (I got the light-medium). It doesn’t have a nasty smell that I notice but does smell a bit like tanning lotion. I have white bedsheets and does not transfer at all.
