It was good to my hair, I had no issues. Product worked, directions came in the box along with all the necessary items needed to relax your hair only thing was missing was the comb lol

First thing’s first: DO THE STRAND TEST IF YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT THE REVIEWS WHERE IT SAYS YOUR HAIR WILL FALL OUT - it didn’t happen to me but still! Everyone’s hair is differentBut WOW I love this relaxer! I did use petroleum jelly as it suggested, and it didn’t burn at all! I wasn’t hoping to get my hair perfectly straight because I do like having waves/thickness, but if I had left it in a little longer, it would’ve definitely done that, but I’m stoked either way!No smell/sensation of burning, no breakage at all… My hair came out SO smooth and even healthier looking (I was taking great care of it before so that probably helps a ton lol)Just overall really good for a DIY hair treatment. I plan on using Keratin shampoo and conditioner to maintain its smoothness, so we’ll see how that goes!

WOW!! I just got out of the shower after doing a corrective with this kit. The TL:DR version of my long story is that I ended up having to buzz cut my hair. After about three months, I had a pretty good amount of growth and was ready to relax my pixie cut. I went with ORS lye and never could achieve more than a texlax that would revert after a couple washes. I had purchased this kit before the buzz cut, but I saw bad reviews and got scared. After researching and seeing that there are some no-lye kits that had the hydroxide in this kit and sodium hydroxide, I decided to try doing a corrective with this kit. IT WORKED better than I was hoping for. It even fixed a patch that I thought I over-processed, but I guess it was actually under-processed. The only thing I didn't care for was the leave-in cream. I could tell right away that my hair wasn't responding well, so I rinsed it back out. I think it's because my hair doesn't like aloe, and that has aloe in it. I put my usual leave-in in, and my hair feels great now. The best part, is I could do my whole corrective with a touch-up portion, so I will get two uses out of one box. Also, this smelled so much better than the no-lye kits of the past. I'm thrilled!Update - when I woke up the next morning, my hair was a bit dry, but I can tell that it will be nice after my first wash. It's not unusual for the hair to be a little dry following a relaxer, and considering that I applied this as a corrective after a lye relaxer I did about a month ago, I'd say the result was fantastic.Update 2 - I was right. My hair was so soft when I did my first conditioning rinse today. I could tell as soon as I got my hair wet. It was so soft, and it feels repaired. I had no breakage and much less shedding than I have been experiencing. I wish I tried this kit earlier. I was very worried so I left a little more curl than I had planned to, but I'm pleased with the results as they are.

Works as expected

The media could not be loaded. I love this relaxer brand, so I really wish that the people responsible for how a customers purchase gets to them would handle it with more care. I've seen too many times that a product will get a worse review bc someone damaged it before it was received.

Even though I don't relax my hair as much as use to, this Dark and Lovely kit is my go to. Yes, there are lots of extra steps but it's worth it. It leaves my hair feeling nice, silky and soft. This the regular kit, not super. I'd recommend this to any woman of color who still relaxes their hair.

Now, Dark & Lovely have been around for a long, long time, so I give them props for being the company to evolve something I thought could never change. My regular relaxer was discontinued so I went on the search for a new one. I saw the reviews for this D&L relaxer in the beautiful purple box and decided to try it. It was easy to use and I love the extra nourishing balm that goes on right after you rinse the relaxer. I was not sure if I'd covered all areas of my new growth, having gotten behind, time-wise, in applying to my whole head. When I rinsed the relaxer out, my hair just felt better. ALL of the post-relaxer conditioners/nourishers smell amazing and this was the FIRST time EVERRRRRR that I used a product and my hair did not smell like the chemical. I would usually follow a relaxer up with my own shampoo and conditioner to try and mask the chemical-ly smell. When I dried and styled my hair, my roots were as straight as could be. Thank you, Dark & Lovely, for up-leveling the expected results for relaxed hair.
