Nice value and features.
Very pleased with the performance of this scope. I put it on a SW15-22 to shoot 4 position rifle match. The adjustable turrets is what sold me on this model. Changing the door is common when mo big between position and yardages. Not having to remove scope caps or use tools was a big plus. Glad is clear and seems to hold zero very well. I’ve only had it to the range a couple times and have put about 200 rounds on it. S opens in general have improved tremendously in the last decade.

A lot of scope for the money
Just received it. The glass very clear. Finish looks great.

provide shooters with an affordable entry point into the world of First Focal Plane (FFP) optics
The Monstrum Beast ED 1-6x LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic) aims to provide shooters with an affordable entry point into the world of First Focal Plane (FFP) optics. It's marketed towards those looking for a versatile optic for close-to-mid-range engagements, covering everything from CQB to longer shots with the appropriate platform. Here's a breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses:Pros:• Price Point: This is arguably the biggest selling point. The Monstrum Beast ED is significantly more affordable than many other FFP LPVOs on the market. This makes it attractive for budget-conscious shooters or those wanting to experiment with the FFP system without breaking the bank.• FFP Reticle: The FFP reticle is a key feature. The reticle scales with magnification, allowing for accurate holdovers and ranging at any magnification level. This is a significant advantage over Second Focal Plane (SFP) LPVOs, where holdovers are only accurate at a specific magnification.• ED Glass: The use of Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass is a welcome addition at this price point. ED glass typically helps to reduce chromatic aberration (color fringing) and improve image clarity and sharpness. While not on par with premium ED glass, it offers a noticeable step up compared to standard glass.• Generous Eye Relief: While eye relief can be somewhat subjective, most users report a reasonably generous eye relief that makes the scope comfortable to use across a variety of shooting positions.• Illumination: The illuminated reticle is bright enough for daylight use (though perhaps not in extremely bright conditions). It's a valuable feature for target acquisition in various lighting conditions. Multiple brightness settings allow for adjustments to suit the environment.• Durable Construction: The scope generally feels robust for its price. The turrets have a tactile click and seem reasonably durable. The overall build quality inspires confidence.• Wide Field of View at 1x: The 1x magnification is relatively distortion-free, making it suitable for close-quarters engagements and use as a pseudo-red dot.Cons:• Optical Clarity: While the ED glass is a plus, the overall optical clarity is not on par with higher-end LPVOs. Expect some edge distortion and a slight loss of clarity at higher magnifications. Compared to top-tier optics, the image can appear a bit "flat."• Reticle Design: While the FFP reticle is functional, some users find the reticle to be a bit cluttered, especially at lower magnifications. The thin lines of the reticle can blend into backgrounds at 1x. Personal preference plays a large role here. Some find it perfectly usable, others prefer a simpler design.• Turret Adjustments: While the turrets are tactile, the clicks can feel a little mushy, and the tracking accuracy isn't always perfect. For serious long-range use or precision shooting, this might be a limitation. Also be aware that the turrets are capped.• Chromatic Aberration: While the ED glass reduces it, chromatic aberration is still present, particularly noticeable at higher magnifications and high contrast targets/lighting.• Weight: It is not the lightest optic on the market. This is something to keep in mind if you are trying to build a lightweight rifle.• Quality Control: As with many budget optics, there are occasional reports of quality control issues. Inspect the scope carefully upon arrival.Overall:The Monstrum Beast ED 1-6x FFP LPVO offers a compelling value proposition for shooters seeking an affordable entry into the world of FFP optics. It delivers decent optical performance with the advantages of ED glass and a functional FFP reticle. However, it's important to manage expectations. It's not going to compete with higher-end optics in terms of clarity, turret precision, or overall fit and finish.Who is this scope for?• Budget-conscious shooters.• Those new to FFP optics and want to experiment without a significant investment.• Hobbyists and recreational shooters.• AR-15 owners looking for a versatile optic for close-to-mid-range engagements.Who is this scope not for?• Serious precision shooters or long-range competitors.• Those who demand the absolute best optical clarity.• Users who require extremely precise and repeatable turret adjustments.Final Verdict:The Monstrum Beast ED 1-6x FFP LPVO is a solid option for its price range. It provides a usable FFP experience with decent glass and a durable build. If you're on a tight budget and want to explore the benefits of FFP, it's worth considering. Just be aware of its limitations and potential quality control issues. For serious competitive use or critical applications, investing in a higher-tier optic is recommended. Do your research, read other user reviews, and assess whether its strengths outweigh its weaknesses for your specific needs.

first scope, good choice(?)
I am new to firearms, so take my review with the world's tiniest grain of salt. This is my first rifle scope, and my experience with optics is limited to binoculars and telescopes. As far I can discern, the optic's clarity and magnification are very good - I don't see any aberrations, distortions, or loss of clarity. The reticle light has 6 brightness settings, and it's very distinct, clear, and visible overlay without excessively blocking/blurring the image/target. I wondered why there was an off position in between each brightness setting, but then I realized this is for convenience - I don't have to cycle through each brightness setting to get to your preferred level. Zooming in/out is easy yet stiff so the magnification stays securely in position once set, and I didn't see any significant dimming or aberrations . The build quality of the scope and mount are very nice and feels very durable and the kit includes all the hardware and tools needed to install it.Again, grain of salt. But as a beginner, I like it a lot.

Liking Monstrum.
These Monstrum scopes are made surprisingly well, and at a good value. I've used Monstrum mounts for optics before, and they all seem to hold up just as fine as the expensive stuff. The scopes have good clear glass, and also some neat reticles. If name brand is a little too much for you, I wouldn't hesitate with what Monstrum puts out.

Monstrum Continues to Deliver
Let me get to the point: I can't think of a single thing NOT to like about this full-featured, top quality scope. Everything about it is top shelf, from it's large 30mm tube, 24mm objective lens, massive ocular lens, first focal plane (FFP) construction, bright and clear reticle and crystal clear image. This is the real deal. The oversized, locking windage and elevation turrets provide super solid tactile and audible feedback. The diopter ring has plenty of adjustment for all eyes and has a good amount of resistance to minimize shifting out of focus. Reticle illumination is as bright or nearly so as my Primary Arms Gen 3 1-6 LPVO.Other scope makers often cheap out, but this one comes with everything: snug-fitting bikini-style lens covers, a top quality offset mount with rings and a magnification throw lever.I've always been impressed with Monstrum but never more so than now.

Solid Scope that Delivers on Quality and Performance!
Our Morpheus MIL scope has been a solid upgrade to our rifle. The optics are clear, bright, and easy to sight in. The turrets adjust quickly and easily. This is a quality build scope that performs great for us when at the range. It fits our rifle perfectly and we have no complaints! It's a great scope for a reasonable price.

Great option for its price range
This is my second Monstrum LVPO, and my first 1st focal. The build quality is great, the adjustment is easy, and the optics are crystal clear. The magnification is smooth moving, and the diopter works great.
