I've come back to drop this from two stars to one. It rained on this "waterproof" device and it started making a loud, repeated "beep" across the neighborhood until I figured out what the heck it was. Then it kept turning itself on and off until, I think, the battery ran out.Note the attached description of IPX6.It no longer works at all. Complete junk.================================Doesn't charge well at all. I'm using it to either listen to music or the Red Sox while throwing a ball outside - for 45 minutes to an hour a day. After a month of occasional use (it was hard to pair it consistently), with it out in the late summer sun, it has too little charge to play. Yesterday it interrupted every few minutes then gave up at half an hour. Today it ran a minute or two. On a full day out in the sun.And, unfortunately - this really hurts - I am four days past the return window. This was not quite "cheap" - $35 I think - and it took a month to find out it doesn't charge enough in the sun to use.I did leave two stars because the Bluetooth basically works, and it will play back audio properly. But the solar charging - not having to wire it or lug it inside all the time - was the feature that mattered to me.

This came 70% charged. I played at work for about 10 hours and plugged in to charge.... still 70%.I charged over night and it was 98%. It played Christmas music in the work lobby for 6-8 hours a day for a week before it was 68%. I tried the solar charge on a partly cloudy winter day and it got to 82%, I'm guessing summer sun would have got it close to full.Great overall sound. Nice bass, good treble.I'm buying another one

I have this sitting in my office window, playing about 8 hours a day streaming from my Fire stick on my office TV. It sounds just fine, and volume is easily suitable to hear anywhere. But if you're looking for boom-boom bass, this ain't the one. Audio quality is fine, but it's not a Bose or Beats speaker. The solar charger is another one--it shows to be charging when in the window, but after about 4 days, it begins to say "battery low, please recharge"...even though it's charging all day in the sun. So I'm getting about 30-40 hours out of a single charge (on the USB charger). Not terrible, but don't depend on solar for a quick-fix charge up!

This is a nice speaker for listening to music in my house and also when I go to play sand volleyball. I haven’t had an issue with the battery, since the solar power helps keep it charged up, and sand isn’t an issue in any of the holes. The sound quality is good enough for my non-audiophile ears and it connects to my phone quickly for ease of use. It also came with a nice little strap to hang it from things. The ports are. Protected by a little silicone part so no water or sand can get in. I’m sure that helps with water proofing it, but I haven’t tested it personally
