This product truly eliminates any unwanted scents from our clothes, and I couldn't be more impressed with the results.Before using Defunkify, I started to notice that our athletic and sports clothes would retain a bit of a stale, stinky smell even after being washed. Of all the detergents I’ve tried (various Mollys, Dirty Labs, Puracy, 7th gen, Ecos, Branch Basics), this is the best overall. Bonus that it is very well priced. Other powders often clumped up in the detergent tray, I’ve never had that issue with Defunkify. It also does the best job of removing odors and doesn’t attempt to mask the funk with any kind of scent.I’d love to see a bulk option and a refillable container without any plastics.

This stuff is amazing. I lent some baby items to a friend, and they returned it after having washed it in some strongly fragranced detergent that I'm allergic to. I tried soaking them in vinegar, baking soda, and oxiclean for hours and days at a time, and could not get the scent out. I used 4 scoops of this in the washer (double the recommended amount) for an 8 hour soak, and then rinsed it. And the smell is gone. My skin doesn't get irritated if i touch the baby carrier wrap. I'm amazed! And so relieved I don't have to replace hundreds of dollars of baby items.

This product works well. If you leave it in a high humidity basement, it only slightly clumps up if you don't close the package. I pour this product into the original plastic jar that came with my first order. Doesn't stain the clothes. I recommend pouring in under running water.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is perfect if you find your clothes have lasting odors. It has made a huge difference in the freshness of my laundry, and it isn't just masking any odors; I get the unscented. The ingredients are actually breaking down odor-causing bacteria.

This laundry detergent is one of the few on the market that has the ingredient TAED (tetraacetylethylenediamine). When this ingredient is mixed with another laundry product that has sources of hydrogen peroxide, such as sodium percarbonate, it produce peracetic acid. Peracetic acid is a GREAT sanitizer. This process works best with powdered products, and especially when presoaked in a warm or hot wash.I mix it with Dollar Tree’s Brillo Basics oxy blast stain remover powder (fragrance free), or Dollar Tree’s boxed fragrance-free color safe powered bleach.It was really hard to find something that had this ingredient AND is a powder AND fragrance free. Defunkify is definitely now a staple in my laundry room for laundry that needs more than a typical wash and needs sanitizing.

I had two main goals: I wanted a detergent that wasn't going to be bad for me or my family's health and I just wanted the lingering musty smells to go away.I tried so many different brands. I tried liquid soaps, detergent sheets, powders, and pods. I tried many comparably pricey and crunchy brands (Dirty Labs, Molly's Suds) and they just would not get the musty out. I tried vinegar rinse cycles and water temperatures, soaks, immediately changing loads, and even hang drying in the sun (which does help a ton, but I'm a mom of two with another on the way and I don't have time for that). I literally have cried over laundry detergent and my stinky clothes. I just did not want to cave in and get something super chemically gross to make my clothes smell better.So I tried Defunkify, and it lived up to its name 😭❤️ FINALLY. So thankful. I almost never remember to go back and write positive reviews but I'm so thankful for this product I had to. And it's so effective, I don't even have to wash on the hottest setting, use a vinegar rinse, or even immediately remove the clothes from the washer. My laundry routine has become so much more forgiving. No rewashing loads, no stressing out about how me or my family smells when we go out.My new recommendation to people: if you're ready to cry, try Defunkify 😂

I’m obsessed with this product! Between my Husband’s clothes that smell like whatever project he just worked on- wood working, yard, car and oil- to my kids playing lacrosse, basketball, and more— this gets the stink out! I wish it came in a larger size. We do laundry every day with our family of five. It’s seriously the best detergent I’ve ever used. Great for sensitive skin! Gets the stink out. Doesn’t damage our techs fabrics. Gets things super clean. Not in a terrible plastic bottle. I honestly think it makes our clothes last longer too.
