Q: Does the underside of the mat have grip or will it slide on a hardwood floor?

The underside is slick, not textured. However, this is a high quality, thick mat. I personally have not had an issue with it slipping on any surfaces I’ve used it. I think it is heavy enough to stay put regardless of surface.

Q: how far apart are the grommets?

Well the description says the mat is 26” wide and the grommets are set inside that width at the top so I am guessing they are about 24” apart. I bought 2 of these mats, one for each daughter-in-law, and they both love them for the size and plush thickness.

Q: Does is come with a bag?

Q: Can this mat be rolled up to take to a class?

Yes it can, when rolled up the diameter is about the same as a 1 gallon paint can, very nice mat.
