Beautiful for a gift!
It's very interesting and super cute! Good idea to save some letter, money or something valuable. Very easy to open. The size is a real book size.

Quality looks good
The quality looks good. It was bought for a gift and came wrapped in plastic. Looks like an actual book.

It's no Fort Knox, but it does what it's supposed to.
I'll start off by saying this is not a high security safe. It's meant to hide from being recognized as a safe and keep people from easily getting to the stuff inside without the use of some tools. Point blank: disguise is its main defense with a lock and a somewhat sturdy body to keep out the curious should it be discovered.Having said that, it works very well at both point. The latest version looks at lot like a book, with page edges that look like real pages when handled. Touching the page edges does blow the illusion, since they appear to be molded plastic instead of real paper. With no actual pages inside, opening the cover immediately does as well.Another selling point is it's not a typical generic dictionary or thesaurus like other safes pretend to be, which was my primary reason for choosing this model. I stuck it on a shelf with other travel and city history books and it blends right in. I already had a real dictionary and thesaurus, so having a double of one or the other would make it harder to maintain the illusion. My only complaint is they attempted to "antique" the cover for some reason. Had it been a "History of New York" book instead of just "New York", it would make more sense. It's not a huge deal, though since it looks long and boring - not something quick and interesting to grab while using the bathroom. As a result, it's likely to sit undisturbed.Another thing to keep in mind is this isn't a fire safe. If it's really, really valuable, keep it in a fire safe.In my case, I keep my increasingly rarely used checkbook and the keys to real safes that hide elsewhere in less convenient places in the house. Again, it's the hiding that is the main point, not the super security of a safe.

Could be better.
At the price I paid I can't really expect a much better product but it truly lacks the feel of a real book. It has more of a box like appearance and feel. As it sits on my bookshelf I try to imagine what a stranger coming in the room would think. How they might view it. I simply want it to look more like the rest of my books.

Very Sturdy
This was a good investment & affordable. I have another one that actually has paper so it looks more real but incase of a fire I do like the idea that this is sealed all the way around.
