Well worth. the price...a penny per serving
This is a very good spice blend that does in fact leave you feeling as if you had ingested actual salt.Unlike other similar leading products, Bensons does not contain potassium or potassium chloride which can also pose health concerns if one suffers from CKD.In reading the reviews of others some express concern of the price compared to its competitors. First of all they are not comparing apples to apples. Bensons has its own unique blend without potassium chloride. The bottle states 85 servings per container which equates to a little over a penny (1.4 cents ) per serving. Expensive? In most cases I think not. Do your self a favor and try a bottle to see if you want to commit further. I did and it passed with flying colors for me

My FAVORITE Salt-Substitute ever!! LOVE! ♥
I absolutely love the flavor of this seasoning. I discovered it a few years ago & was using it up too fast, so I slowed it down for awhile, as it can get pricey. I need to be on a low-sodium diet & just have not discovered any seasonings that I really like, except for this one. I keep trying Mrs. Dash & others, but they are just meh! I use them, but I don't love them. So I'm back to buying this all the time.It has a lot of flavor, but it doesn't taste like regular salt. I feel like it's a salt-free seasoning, not so much a salt substitute per se. Remember everyone's taste buds are different. To me, it has a 'LEMONY-SOUR' flavor. I use it on so many things, but my favorite is on things with butter/margarine, such as baked potatoes, cooked vegetables, popcorn, etc. l also love it sprinkled on salt-free potato chips, low-sodium Ritz crackers, just about anything that needs a flavor boost. I've also used it on buttered toast as a simple snack. I've never used it for cooking, only for sprinkling on afterwards.Besides providing the much needed flavor for salt-free foods, I love that it has NO pepper, no garlic, no potassium chloride, no sodium. It's NOT spicy like so many other seasonings. If you're expecting a straight salt flavor, there's a chance you could be disappointed. But if you're open to trying a different kind of flavoring, I'd say to try it... I would use it even if I didn't need to watch my diet.A few cons:- The price. It has gone up quite a bit in the last few years. It's a small bottle & sprinkles out freely, so it goes fast if you use it often. It's expensive.- There are some crunchy, hard pieces dispersed throughout, pieces of dehydrated veggies, I believe, carrots etc. ~I could do without those~ I don't like biting into anything hard. I once read a review where a reviewer said she would grind it up, but I can't be bothered with that.- It can get 'cakey' on the bottom in humid weather. But it never lasts that long in my house.I've been known to bring it to restaurants with me.I recommend it & have done so to many people.5 stars.

Good
This is actually a pretty nice alternative to salt. It takes a little bit to get use to. It has a lemon flavor to it so if you don't like that, you may want to try something else. Surprisingly, I don't like lemon but I've adjusted to this. It works well on almost every meat, although I didn't like it on tilapia as much. It does not do well on vegetables, but it's great on potatoes. It's alot of trial and error with every food you try it on. It does add enough flavor to not miss salt as much.

Tastes good but container lid needs redesign
It's tasty, not like salt, but still quite good. I use it over eggs and popcorn.I'm only giving three stars as it cakes quickly while in the container once opened. What happens is the spices that don't fully come out when the container is being used get all over the lid, making it hard to close. Therefore it dries out, clumps and cakes, and no longer easily comes out. To avoid this make sure you close the lid tightly after each use. Easier said than done though as the seasoning gets in all the books and crannies of the lid. Certainly there's a better dispensing option than what they're using.

I hate salt substitutes - this one is different
Having tried many salt substitutes (some of which report some level of sodium on their ingredients) and finding nothing suitable for both my preferences and my doctor's endorsement, a friend recommended this product. It ain't salt, but it does satisfy my requirements for a flavor enhancement. I keep it on the table with the pepper mill. It's hygroscopic so it tends to cake but a slight tap on the table loosens it up nicely.

Taste salty, Zero Sodium YUM!
I love it, no aftertaste like the other “no” salts. More flavor sets as a package and cheaper price is all I could ask for.

It tastes good on popcorn.
If you are as old as I am this salt substitute is great for helping to keep your blood pressure down. Also your feet and ankles may not swell as much. Oh guess what I am not a doctor but have stayed at a Holiday END. :-)

Tasty salt substitute
Of all the salt substitutes I’ve tried, this is the one that actually tastes like salt and has a really good flavor. However, my experience is that once it gets onto the food, it loses some of its flavor/strength; so you have to shake out a lot of it. But I really like its taste.
