Unusual
I saw an article about this on the BBC and was curious to try this since it is supposed to be a thirst quencher. I ended up using 1 tablespoon in a cup of milk and that was plenty even though the directions on the bottle said for 2 tablespoons. I immediately tasted the rose. That is something I never thought I would taste in my life. It was pleasant, but unusual. I love the smell of rose. Another thing I found unusual was it said to not store it in the fridge and it cannot be under 60 something degrees. Everything I open I store in the fridge for preservation so that was different. I am going to do something another reviewer suggested and make a lemonade with it or add it to my iced tea mix.

Childhood memories
This gave me childhood memories of drinking rose milk on a hot summer in India. If you’ve tasted it before buy this syrup. Also, great quality packaging. I was worried if there might be any leaks but the seal was so hard to break.

Hard to find product in U.S
Hard to find product in U.S. So when I saw this on amazon I was pretty surprised. Typically only available at indian/paki or middle eastern groceries. Anyone who's had this as a child knows how delicious it is. Mix with some yogurt rose syrup and kiwra. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because my bottle had a strong chemical oder. It did not affect the quality of the product. Perhaps from where it was stored or shipped.

Sweet and delicate!
My daughter in college made this Rose-flavored cake (Rooh Afza Cake) and rose flavored mocktails to celebrate her friend Rose’s birthday with a coquette party and it was a hit with the girls! The syrup is lightly sweet and aromatic. They also made rose-flavored sherbet. We are buying again to replicate this cake at home!!

An Extremely Exotic Drink
While reading a copy of Saveur from January 2007 a few weeks ago, I found out about Sharbat Rooh Afza. This crimson syrup can be mixed into water, club soda or milk. I find I prefer this syrup mixed with milk as it brings out the floral flavors very effectively. While the magazine said this is infused with the essence of rose, coriander seed, watermelon and other herbs and fruits I found this version mostly contains sugar, fragrant screwpine, rose essence and xanthan gum. This drink is best when you mix nine ounces of water/milk/club soda with two tablespoons syrup. But you can adjust it to taste. Some people add it to lemonade or pour it over ice cream. In milk it reminds me of strawberry milk with a hint of rose.~The Rebecca Review

I really wanted to like this...
I really wanted to like this. After seeing the reviews from South Asian customers, I went with it. I'm a huge fan of rose and lived in the Middle East for about 6 years. Sorry, this has an unpleasant after taste that makes it hard to consume. From the ingredients, this consists more of other concentrates than rose. It does resemble rose flavor. I'm going to do my best to make this work, but I see myself throwing it away soon. I'm going to try a different brand. If you end up liking the taste, then it's a good amount for about $8.
