🎶 Elevate your tone game with buttery smooth control — because your sound deserves the best!
The Bourns 500K Audio Taper Potentiometer features a carbon element with a knurled 18-tooth split shaft, designed for precise volume and tone control in electric guitars and amps. Its low friction rotation ensures smooth, responsive adjustments, making it a favorite among guitar builders and modders. Compact with a 3/8" bushing, it fits most standard setups but is incompatible with US-spec knobs and metric import guitars.

Love Bourns Pots!
Love Bourns pots! But they wear out or either break on me prematurely sometimes. It’s all good though!

super smooth action
These are GREAT pots. I build and modify my own guitars, have a lot of experience with different potentiometers from various manufactures and the Bourns pots are the best I have ever used for the price. There are some higher end pots but very expensive and not cost effective considering law of diminishing returns. These feature a super smooth action, perfect for volume swells and pinkie control when playing. If you are looking for the best pots for your build or refurb, this is it. Go. Buy. Now.

The missing piece
My brother wanted to get into playing guitar so I found one for him that was in pretty good shape, but needed a little TLC. The biggest problem was the volume pot on the guitar just spun and spun. I pulled it out and went to Amazon and found the Bourns 500K Guitar & Amp Potentiometer. It was a perfect fit, cost next to nothing and now my brother has a fully functioning guitar that he can learn on -- without having to borrow one of mine! Highly recommended.

The Best EVER
I have paid $12 for DiMarzio and ProLine pots over the past 15 years in my guitar and this beats them hands down. Lower friction = smoother turning. It is so smooth with a flick of the little finger it goes from full volume to off instantly. It also has the perfect profile. Most of the voltage reduction happens in the first 20% of the turn; that combined with the very low friction means that small adjustments take less time to make, making it easier to play live. I've read the Bourns data page and they claim a life-cycle of 200,000 full deflections, which is about 20 years of playing for me. This potentiometer reinvigorated my playing. Not often you can say something like that.

Buy it if you need it
Good deal, totally works. Doesn't feel gooey smooth like some fancy pots but still feels good and works great.

These are GREAT! It's not in the add
These are GREAT! It's not in the add, but these are low friction and very fast. Very easy to solder to the back of these and the taper is pretty smooth! A great alternative to signature lo friction pots at a much lower cost!!

Good stuff
Bourns is a high-quality manufacturer, and this pot is a testament to that. Smooth taper, with a great low-friction feel. I will be buying more to retrofit my other guitars!
