These lamps are great for reading or doing close work that requires good lighting. I've had mine for years. The daughter wanted one for her birthday gift.

Instructions seem to direct you to take off the adjustable shade in order to insert the light bulb, though the light bulb is packaged inserted. I almost pried the shade off with a screwdriver. Thankfully, I reinserted the bulb without breaking anything. The light has no/on off switch I could find, so unplugging it is the only option. The magnifying lens is acryllic. The functional viewing is through a monocle-like circle. At age 70, I'm still using both eyes to sew, thus find this not useful. With all that, I will use this little light every day, with its brightness and adjustability. My old craft light was a heavy florescent circling a glass magnifier, at the end of a rusty crane-like metal arm. Two different lights broke off their cranes, an obvious design flaw, yet I cobbled mine together to get the last bit of functionality, because light is the seat of creativity.

This light is great for doing close-up work where you need the light concentrated on your project.

The media could not be loaded. I wanted a Magnifier, but it turned out it’s hard to use a Magnifier without being able to position it in any angle. Same with the light it’s stationary so you can tilt it, though. I think the light is great and I love it when you bend it shuts off and even snaps shut completely. Pretty sturdy.

This powerful, portable, effective little light shines far brighter than the mere light waves it produces. As a gamer/model builder, I often build and paint miniatures roughly an inch or two in height, all with fine detail. This light allows me to clearly see the detail - even without using the included magnification lens. The type of light used insures the colors are clear and true to range, making my end-product sharper, more believable. Best. Zombies. Ever.
