Great
Great resource for an engineer. I used it for studying for the PE exam. With the new computer format you can no longer bring it into the test, but it is still useful for studying.I still use it to this day as it is the quickest reference I own. Very logically laid out and organized.

Excellent resource for petroleum engineers and PE test takers - unique format provides rapid information locating
This guidebook is concise, handy and will save the reader lots of time sorting through volumes of texts. I purchased this book for reference material at my office, it works and I highly recommend. My background – petroleum engineer (production and reservoir disciplines) with a major as well as small private Permian Basin company. I now work acquisitions/divestitures as a Senior Engineer at an investment bank.Superior organization – the book is organized by subject with the complete contents reference page on the cover. This provides for quick information locating so you don’t have to flip endlessly.Unique page style – each page has its own set of variables and units that is specific to the material on the given page only. This allows for direct focus on the material and eliminates wasted time flipping through pages. This is the first time I have seen a book formatted like this and I believe the only PE book of it’s kind.Works – The author used the book in 2015 on the PE exam and it works. As a study guide, you will be able to find all the relevant information you need quickly. This is an essential buy for PE test takers. It is also a very inclusive reference book for the office of any petroleum engineer (volumetrics, ESP pump sizing, DCA equations, waterflood sweep efficiency… it’s all in there). Great buy

Essential Resource for Petroleum Engineers Studying for PE Exam
This guidebook is one of the best tools that a petroleum engineer could have when preparing to take the petroleum professional exam (PE), especially for such a low cost. For some reason, PE exam resources for petroleum engineers is seriously lacking compared to many of the other engineering disciplines (i.e. Civil). The only other choices out there are 2-3 different review courses (some of which have been helpful in the past, but the costs are usually in the thousands of dollars), or the SPE Exam Reference Guide which does not do a sufficient job explaining any of the material in detail. This guidebook provides a great foundation to start with and helps hone in your focus on which material is most important & relevant to the test questions. New material is also constantly being added/updated and subsequent guidebook versions are made available free of charge (except for minor printing expenses) for those who have already purchased one in the past.I honestly believe that this is the best petroleum PE review book that is currently on the market.

Good for solving problems if you're familiar with the equations
Great idea having the table of content on the front cover to save space. Just a few typos. Could have used a little more explanation. Should have presented the problems better by spelling out the problem and the data to be used in the problem. Is very handy.

Excellent resource for the PE Petroleum Engineering Exam
This book is a great resource for the PE exam. It contains the information needed for the subjects covered in the exam, with numerical examples to most of the equations and the references used. The 2018/#2 has added more notes and explanation to each subject compared to the 2017 version, which helps tremendously in the theory questions. (I initially planned to stay with the 2017 version of the guidebook, but after struggling with the 2018 type problems, I decided to get the 2018/#2 version and now the 2018 type problems are a non-issue)The 2018/#2 comes in a formal book binding with the plastified cover that has the table of contents compared to the prior spiral bounded versions. It may take some time to get used to the new binding and will require to fold it prior to using it.This guidebook is a must have for the preparation for the PE exam, specially with a short study schedule.

MUST HAVE resource for Petroleum Engineers!
I recently purchased the 2018 Version 1 from David. I'd like to point out, this is an excellent guidebook for anyone taking the PE Petroleum Examination. He has really thought about the test when building this book. The simple idea of eliminating unnecessary page turns with a visible TOC on the front cover helps the examinee save valuable seconds during the exam. This guidebook has all the references to where the equations and tables are found for further reading. It also includes quick conversions that all Petroleum Engineers should know. I personally have used this guidebook in my everyday job, whether calculating Sucker Rod Sizes for oil wells or pipeline capacities for large bore, long pipelines used in natural gas transportation service. If you take a look at the front cover (picture provided), you will see the various topics provided. Keep in mind, this guidebook is used for quick reference at work or during the exam. It's the practical application portion behind all the theory. The guidebook cuts through heavy math (calculus) and provides very step-by-step algebraic approach to solving complex problems.I can't say enough about this guidebook and the time/effort the author has put into it. It's very well put together and a must for Petroleum Engineers.

Probably the most important tool I used on the exam
This handbook is priceless (1) in preparation for the exam (2) during the exam (3) as a reference after the exam. I used this reference as a "guide" to navigate my preparation - which I recommend. Author is responsive, helpful, and deeply invested in the quality of the product (and open to feedback). The price is a drop in the bucket compared to other tools you might purchase in preparation for the exam.

Helped me pass
I took and failed the petroleum PE three times before discovering this guidebook and practice problems. After using the guidebook, working all of the practice problems, and using David's website to ask questions I was able to pass the test. This guidebook and companion practice problem sets are a must for anyone attempting the petroleum PE.
