It opened 24 oysters without much difficulty however, I recommend that thick sturdy gloves are needed because clothes used to hold an oyster etc do slip and can cause you a very deep cut! But, this gadget is good and reliable.

Very good quality item, I could see this is the last knife I will be to buy for opening oyster. If the point is sharper it would get full 5 star, not big concern though... It serves its purpose well!!

Nice sturdy oyster opener, no injuries so far!

I bought this knife ahead of Christmas Eve oyster platter as a treat for my family (we have previously struggled with a screwdriver!).It looks beautiful but it is super easy to skid with the tip not getting enough purchase between upper and lower Oyster clam shell muscle attachments. At the very first useage my daughter cut her finger very badly and we had to eventually resort to using the screwdriver approach again.It probably has a nifty technique, but I would say you should absolutely have appropriate cutting gloves - particularly on the hand which is holding down the Oyster. They are irregularly shaped and can slip so it's important to have good confident purchase.This Oyster knife should have cutting gloves as an additional extra or recommended for use. I'm afraid I had to throw it away immediately... too afraid for someone else to have a similar accident and a busy time over Christmas for the faff of a return.Waste of time and money in our case. Someone else may have worked it out and love it! Just beware.

Ich habe schon verschiedene Austern-Messer ausprobiert, aber dieses ist/war für mich das beste!Es liegt gut in der Hand, ist sehr robust und kann - weil ganz aus Edelstahl - zum Reinigen in die Spülmaschine!Und der einseitige Sägeschliff erleichtert in "Härtefällen" das Öffnen der Auster! :-)

I bought 5 of these knives for gifts. Nicely packaged and a wonderful gift for any oyster lover! Very smartly designed. Cost was appropriate.
