Exact replacement for Dell XPS 8300 video card
I ordered this as a direct replacement for the video card on my Dell XPS 8300 (circa August 2011; Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz, 64-bit 8GB RAM). I was getting hardware shutdowns when playing graphic-intensive video games and traced it to over-heating (not blue screen, just some weird audio crackle, then power-off). Even though the card's internal fan seemed to be functioning, it was red hot when I checked it right after an incident. Surprisingly, the Dell web site was not super helpful in getting a replacement, so I searched Amazon and found it here. It seems to be an exact replacement as far as model numbers and by visual inspection, installed cleanly, and worked right off the bat.

Great price and performance
I think for around $50 this card is absolutely great if you want to replace Intel HD Graphics. You can run any CoD game, any Source game, GTAIV, ArmA II, Skyrim, etc, all at 1080p. My only complaint is that there was no driver disc included.

Same Disappointment Here
I am echoing Douglas' review. I have the same result. I feel as he does so I copied parts of his review. " The package shows a 2GB card as does the description but when I run GPU-Z to verify the capacity it only shows as 1GB. All in all it's a decent card but for the price I was expecting twice the memory which is important when rendering. I'm disappointed and really don't know what else to say."

Not As Described
I would love to give this product a higher review but it is not exactly as described. The package shows a 2GB card as does the description but when I run GPU-Z to verify the capacity it only shows as 1GB. All in all it's a decent card but for the price I was expecting twice the memory which is important when rendering. I'm disappointed and really don't know what else to say.

DEPENDABLE
Bought this to replace the same model on my Dell XPS desktop. The old one was still working but was suffering from dust buildup in the cooling fan. I cleaned out the old one and could have re-installed it, but I just set it aside for a spare and installed a new one. This is a good, dependable, fairly basic video card for average user not something a power user/gamer would need.

Easy to install
I bought this to replace a basic stock video card that died. Easy to install, very quiet and streams videos with ease. For a basic card this works great.

Great, inexpensive upgrade to a Core 2 Duo Computer
The installation went very smoothly on a Dell desktop with Windows 7. The upgrade improved computer performance and Windows experience rating for the computer significantly. Good price to performance upgrade. Very happy.
