Adore this book
I'm sitting here trying to write a review for Logan's Need and I'm struggling. It seems that the books I love are always the hardest reviews to write because I never quite feel like my words will do them justice. It's too hard sometimes to put into words how much I love a story but I'll try to do my best this time.Last fall I was in a bit of a book funk, I'm not quite sure what was going on but I was just not having any luck with the books I was buying. Nothing seemed to really engage me. I had seen a few books by Sloane Kennedy but I just wasn't excited about reading them for one reason or another. Then I saw a review of Logan's Need from a friend on Goodreads. It sounded pretty good and I thought why not?If only I had known how much this book would come to mean to me. Logan's Need turned out to be just what I needed. I was once again excited about the MM genre and I immediately ordered two more books by Sloane Kennedy before I'd even reached the end of Logan and Dom's story. From there I devoured the Finding and Barretti Series. Once Absolution came out, though, I knew Sloane Kennedy would and has become one of my absolute favorite authors.Since then I have come back to Logan's Need multiple times and it never gets old. I still love it just as much if not more than the first time I read it. This book means a lot to me and even if it sounds cheesy to say it, Dom and Logan hold a very special place in my heart. I love these men and I love their story and I love that Sloane Kennedy made me fall in love with this genre all over again.5+ Stars!28-year-old Logan Bradshaw is trying to figure out how to go about his life now that his eyes were forced open to everything that has been going on without his knowledge. Sam, his boss and business partner, almost succeeded in destroying the life he built for himself and his younger sister Savannah. Savannah had hidden the fact that Sam had raped and tormented her from Logan and now Logan feels as if it's his fault for not knowing. As much as he wants to move on and try to heal he can't seem to overcome his guilt. When a wealthy married couple hires Logan to engage in a ménage with them, Logan is relieved that they don't want to go all the way. But when he meets the alluring Mr. And Mrs. Dominic Barretti, he is completely surprised by how captivated he is by them. Something extraordinary happens between the three of them that night and Logan is unable to stop thinking about it long after he's walked away. When Dom's dying wife, Sylvie, asks for them to try a ménage, Dom is unable to say no. While he hates the idea of sharing the woman he loves even for one night, how can he say no to her? He has no idea how much the experience will affect him. Logan is extraordinary and makes him feel things he doesn't want to at that moment. If only Dom knew what Sylvie had put in motion.Neither Logan and Dom have an easy time following that night. Sylvie passes away leaving Dom shattered. Loving him as she did and wanting him to be able to live and be happy she reaches out to Logan through a series of letters. Her plan is not easy for either man and they are forced to face things neither are capable of at first. When a threat to Logan becomes known, Dom is determined to make sure he's safe and the men will have to come to terms with what they are and what they could be.Logan and Dom are incredible together, their chemistry is combustible. These two men really go through a gamut of trials and tribulations trying to find their way. There are a lot of emotions that both men have to deal with when it comes to the fact that Dom has just lost his wife and it's very realistic. They don't just push her memory to the back and I liked that because she's the catalyst to them getting together. There is also a lot that goes into Logan coming to terms with his sexuality and as a fan of GFY/OFY, I really appreciated how it was handled. Logan has to get used to the fact that he has never thought of another man in a sexual way before and what does it all mean for him? It's not an easy thing for him but Sloane Kennedy handles it very realistically.I'm going to be honest, you can tell this is one of her earlier books. As well done and enjoyable as it is, she's grown so much as an author since the release of Logan's Need. It's evident in her Protection series. But here's the thing about Logan's Need, it's the beginning of it all. This story is a foundation for all the other stories that followed and now going back to this one after reading all the others I believe even more in Logan and Dom. In my opinion, they're like the Patriarchs of this great big wonderful family and you have to smile whenever they are in the room. I love them and they, no matter who follows, will always be that special couple I think about when asked who's my favorite.I highly recommend Logan's Need and believe me you can not go wrong with this author.

Fast-paced, steamy entertainment with angst angst angst
This book is gay steam with a bit of suspense and all the emotions. In other words, it’s quite delectable. There’s a grief-stricken widower, gay awakening bordering on GFY, nooky for days, a roller-coaster love story, sibling guilt, trauma handling and a crazy kidnapper/serial-killer.This is great entertainment. It’s not epic. It’s not fabulous. But the writing is great and the story is juicy, so the overall result is a pretty satisfying read. And the cover picture, it’s so bloody delicious and beautiful I’d love to hang it on my wall.Yes, it’s part of a series and no, I haven’t read the first two books, but Logan’s Need worked real well as a stand-alone. Sure, there were some referrals to previous events but they were explained well enough that I needn’t be confused. So, there’s Logan. In a combined fire and shooting (previous book) he was shot in the chest and had to have heart surgery. He’s suffering from the events leading up to that trauma and he’s not in a good head space. Add to that his fire damaged bar and a huge hospital bill, he’s resorted to taking on new clients – a couple no less – working as an escort. Yes, that kind of escort. Only his clients, a married couple, affects him in a way he didn’t expect. Then the wife dies and letters from her are delivered to Logan. She asks him to seek out her husband, Dom, and Logan can’t make himself deny the request of a dead woman. Dom and Logan have the most intense chemistry. But Dom just buried his beloved wife and Logan has never been attracted to another man before. And as if that isn’t enough, the man who shot Logan and attacked his sister is back and he has set his sights on Logan’s family. This is a short and quick read. There’s plenty of action and there’s no time to be bored. Still, even if it is fast-pacing, the story wasn’t rushed. You could of course argue that Logan’s and Dom’s connection happens too fast, and Dom did just bury his wife who he loved deeply. But there’s actually more to the story that will, sort of, make that part a bit more plausible. So it isn’t insta-love even though it definitely is insta-sizzle.There were two pretty distinct sections of the story. The first is where the focus is on the relationship between Logan and Dom. Their emotions are all over the place and there’s lots of banging – the naughty kind. So that was nice. And then there’s the second part of the read when the killer/predator angle takes precedence. It was good to have that focus switch and that added action. However, I can’t say I really bought in to the reason Dom and Logan themselves went after the psycho, even if Dom owned a security firm. What I didn’t like, and what made me slightly irritated, was the skewed guilt-tripping between Dom and Logan. Dom says the most horrible things to Logan. On more than one occasion. And Logan forgives him, just like that. But the one time Logan's angry and says something hurtful, it’s supposedly so bad it’s the end of them as a couple? That was just silly. But apart from that, this story is a steamy, fast-paced and action filled joyride. Simply put, great entertainment.

My first book by Sloane Kennedy and it will not be my last!!
As a new reader of Sloane Kennedy’s books, I asked for recommendations from her readers on Facebook regarding which book I should start with. Many of them suggested Logan’s Need, which I purchase and quickly read. All I can say is thanks for the perfect recommendation!Logan’s Need could as easily have been called Dom’s Need, as both protagonists existed in damaged states that desperately needed healing. (And, as it turns out, the specific healing necessary could only be provided by each other.) It is an angsty love story, chock full of conflict and heat, which kept me turning pages. I found myself pulling for the unlikely couple, knowing that they belonged together, even when they didn’t. But Logan’s Need is more than a story of passionate love and self-discovery. It is romantic suspense. I found myself waiting for danger, and expecting to find it around every corner. And still, I was surprised when evil finally caught up with the characters! This was the perfect story to read as I lounged on my patio, soaking up the sun. Logan’s Need was my first book by Sloane Kennedy, but it certainly will not be my last!

AMAZING, HEARTBREAKING, BEAUTIFUL
Logan’s Need is a beautiful story of self discovery and identity, family, loss, heartbreak, healing, hope, and always, always love. Sloane Kennedy is a new to me author and I’ve both fallen down the rabbit hole and in love. Her writing is seamless and fluid, her characterization all too real and relatable, and her plotting is perfect. If you haven’t read her work, do so now!! I can’t give her enough stars.

Beautiful
Dom and Logan ❤️ Oh my word! I couldn’t this down!! I got this book not fully realizing its part of a series but it didn’t make a difference. Dom’a wife who was dying wanted a threesome…and this book is so much more than that. It touching, loving, sad in some parts but it’s honestly a nice read. Dom and Logan’s love for each other during their most shattered moment is beautiful.

Love and Loss
A beautiful story well written. The chemistry between Dom and Logan was so strong and so emotionally consuming. Both me knew they had felt real loss and pain but both carried their own demons that they had to face to be able to move on i recommend this series and this author

An emotional read
Tears pooled in my eyes throughout reading this book so be prepared for all the feels. Well written and deeply evocative it'll put you through the bringer and leave you wanting more. I reading this in the order the author suggests starting with the protector series.
