I am reupholstering a chair for the first time and I bought these without a clue to what I was doing. When I took the original covering off chair they had used nothing like it, they had used the cardboard strip nail technique for edges. I saw a lady use something similar to this on YouTube and wow it made life 10x easier. Easy to use. Sturdy yet pliable. Worked perfect on those rounded edges Looks great!!

I really prefer the old style of tackstrip that is based on hard cardboard. The metal has too many disadvantages. I did use this and it worked okay in soft poplar, but was difficult in hard maple. The spikes just aren't robust enough to get into the hard maple without bending all out of shape. I had to start the holes with a strip and then use a second one to get the back on the furniture. In the end, I was able to get it to work.

I watched the YouTube tutorial video and reupholstered my slipper chair ALL BY MYSELF! I'm a 63 year old widow who is learning all sorts of new skills. The chair turned out beautifully and the flex-grip was very easy to use and made the back of my chair look like a pro did the work.

Here's my husband sitting on the huge couch that WE reupholstered.... YES WE! And it was easy to do because we saw a video about using these tacking strips. Upcycling made easy! (oh and by the way... the mask is from Amazon too... )
