Doesn't leak, holds the heaviest days.
No leaks, holds even the heavy days. This is the third brand of menstrual cups I've tried, and the first one that doesn't leak. It is also very easy to put in, pops right open, is easy to remove, and is comfortable. After 5+ years of struggling with menstrual cups, leaking, not positioned correctly, uncomfortable, hard to remove, I am shocked that the design and material can make such a difference. All those wasted years struggling with leaks and using a backup light pad. With my previous large sized cup, it would leak a lot if I did not empty it every hour. The venus large can last 3-4 hours and catches all of it.

Perfect for high cervix!
I struggled with the Diva cup (both sizes) on and off for several years. The cups were personally too hard for me and would migrate so high up I had an extremely hard time removing the cup. Not to mention that the rims seemed to push on my bladder and no matter how small I'd try to squish the cup on removal, it was painful!Fast forward to quarantine and I decided to give menstrual cups a try again. I did a ton of research and while the quiz on the Put a Cup In It website suggested the Lily cup for my high cervix (which I didn't realize was a thing until I found that website!) the Lily cup sadly ended up being just too soft and getting a good seal every single time is difficult. (Though when I did manage to get a good seal the Lily cup was great!)Since the Lily cup experience was so-so for me I kept searching and that's when I found the Venus cup on Menstrual cup previews website and decided to try the starter kit as the price was perfect for both sizes.I love it!I haven't tried the small size as my flow this month was super heavy. At first I was leery by how big the large appears but once I get it in and into the right place it fits perfectly. Weird thing about it though is for every other cup I've tried I always use the 'Punch Down' fold. However, for me and the large Venus cup, the only fold that works is the 'C' fold. Go figure!? I don't always feel or hear the pop of the cup opening but this cup was easier for me to nudge back and forth and up and down and every time I gave it a chance it did open up properly and make a seal for me with not much extra effort or having to remove it and try again. Also I was leery about the big round base of it and expected it to push on my bladder or feel uncomfortable. It's not the case! It's also not difficult for me to grab the base of and break the seal. With my high cervix this cup, because of its size, doesn't travel so far up that it's difficult to get out. I don't trim the stem at all and can find the cup easily (REMEMBER NEVER PULL THE CUP OUT BY THE STEM! IT'S JUST TO HELP YOU FIND THE CUP TO REMOVE AND ALSO SHIFT THE CUP INTO PLACE AFTER INSERTING!)The rim is much softer on this cup than the Diva's and though the Venus is larger, it is not near as painful to remove as the whole cup itself is a bit softer in feel than the Diva (though nowhere near as soft as the Lily cup)I'm still learning this whole process but I have to say that 9 out of 10 times I have gotten the Venus large in, opened properly, gotten a good seal and had no leaks! It holds a lot and it great for us super heavy flow ladies.I'm very glad I tried this cup and I think it may definitely be the one!Every woman's body is different and what works for me may not work for you but if any of the issues I've mentioned or comparisons to other cups sound similar to you then this cup might be the ticket for you as well. Also as a side note, after purchasing the cup I got 2 separate emails from the Venus cup company through Amazon, one with a separate .pdf of the instruction manual (which by the way is the best I have seen for ANY cup! It's full of great info!) and the second email was just reaching out to make sure everything was okay and seeing if I was happy with the cup/had any questions. While most of the time I get a bit annoyed by this kind of email, I found this really nice of the company to do. Especially in making sure I had an extra manual! You rarely get that sort of extra treatment and I appreciated their effort.

It's purple
So you have a truck load of nonsense being released from your body on a monthly basis and need some help. Try this. The large size is the biggest capacity that I was able to find on Amazon. The stem is short which is great for comfort but a little iffy when the cup decides to scoot up the canal and you have to fish it out. Don't panic, you'll get it out. The time in between insertion and removal highly depends upon your cycle. I'm pre-menopausal so on some days, I've had to change this every hour. I still wear a pad for an oopsy since the cup has to properly seal in order for no leakage, and sometimes I think it's sealed and uh nope. I still think it's a great tool to have for the really heavy days. I personally use vinyl disposable gloves to help with the messiness of changing. Great find.

New mom, low cervix, not the fit for me
I decided to try this cup after my old cup no longer fit quite right after having a baby. I have a very heavy flow and was also looking for a larger capacity cup. I think that my cervix must be low because this cup sat too low for me. I’ve used it for about 6 months. It did the job but it frequently felt like I was going to push it out, especially when I would exercise/lift weights. Any sort of strain and I would push it lower. The cup worked and was tolerable, but I have finally switched to the Merula XL cup instead and it fits much better. The cup is shorter and a little wider, vs the Venus (large) which is narrower and longer. I think the Venus cup may be a better option for someone with a normal to high cervix and the Merula XL may be better for a lower cervix/for someone who has had a baby. That has at least been my experience.
