TP-Link Deco M5 Wi-Fi System (Single Pack) – Router Replacement for Secure Whole Home Coverage (Renewed)

I am pretty good with IT and expected this to be a challenge but it is easy enough for anyone to set up. Just follow the steps it the APP and before you know it you have WiFi everywhere. I am running 4 DECOs. 1 is my routher with a direct connection to my cable modem and the other 3 are meshed APs. On 1 AP I have a CAT5 cable between it and a PC that does not have WiFi. In over 2 years, I have not had any signal issues or disconnections. It just works. I am streaming to 4 TVs and never have a bandwidth issue. Im not a gamer but I would expect that it would not be an issue. I set up QoS to prioritize video which was a snap using the app.

I live in a one story rambler with the wifi hub connected to the fiber optic terminal by a short cable on one end of the house. This purchase was an expansion to my workshop of my wifi network that already had DECO repeaters. The DECO system is easy to install and works very well, keeping the wifi signal high enough to enjoy the high speeds provided the fiber optic connection. Setup took all of 3 minutes.

I bought this one as I needed more coverage in my garage. I have a large house (over 4000sq ft), Rancher over a Rancher. This TP Link Mesh network is awesome. The router features are very good. The protection for your network is very good. I've had this specific network going for four years now without any failures at all. I have 20 networked devices and all work perfectly all the time. I am an IT professional btw so I know a little about the topic. If you want a solid network for a good price, TP Link is the way to go!

I was adding a 4th TP-Link Deco M5 node to my existing Deco M5 mesh wireless system. I wrongly assumed it would be "plug 'n play", it wasn't.First thing to do before even plugging it in is to update your existing system to the current firmware. Once done, you have to delete the existing network, and start over with the new unit.Other than that, a great value and rock solid networking.

There's nothing more annoying than weak wifi, especially at home. With the Deco Mesh system we don't have a corner of the house without high speed wifi. The best part is not having to sign in every time you switch to a new unit's signal, it is a seamless transition as you move from room to room, picking up the strongest signal available. There are even parental controls built in on the app. These devices (we have a network of 6) have improved our wifi experience 1000%.

I have a high end router in the office but didn't want it to be bogged down by all the smart home devices so I decided to get a little Mesh router that. One thing about most mesh routers, they do not have a web interface so the Amazon Eero was out. This one has a web interface which is a nice touch. I have about 12 smart home devices connected to it and it actually can cover a 1700 sqft home just fine. 1 Single unit. Setup was a breeze. Not an eyesore to look at. I have it set as a separate AP for all my smart home devices and everything is working perfectly fine. Highly recommend this little router

Very simple: these are rock solid, never need to be reset, just do the work they were designed to do: provide an unobtrusive mesh network, in a house where a conventional router gave us nothing but grief. Have had them for years, recommended to family and friends, nothing but joy. Had to replace one, burned out after at least three years a faithful service.
