Made in Japan... Now that actually means something and that something is quality.
Honestly, the quality of these pliers simply blew me away. I've read the reviews and if that was not impressive enough, I watched a number of YouTube videos regarding the pliers and I can't find anything negative about them. Well, they arrived quickly and I'm impressed. The machining is absolutely spot-on perfection and they operate with absolute fluidity. The teeth are sharp and precise and really grab on with a massive amount of power, easily removing most broken bolts. The cutter is incredibly sharp, leaving clean, accurate cuts, precise and ready to us. While the handles are not perhaps as smooth and comfortable as the Knipex insulated tools, they're every bit the quality of any European produced tool and miles beyond anything produced in China. These will not replace standard slip jaw pliers, but that's not their designed purpose. I wouldn't perhaps refer to them as linesman pliers, but yes, you could use these in place of your Kleins if you're working with smaller guages. Okay, these aren't exactly cheap, but when you look at them up close, examine the detail and precision machining, it's honestly a wonder they're not $70.00 a pair. WOW! I plan to use these on my work bench, where my favorite, daily-use hand tools are lovingly placed within reach. These are an absolutely recommended addition for anyone who builds, creates, wires, plumbs, designs or works with their hands, professional or DIY'r.

The best linesman pliers for electrical work, period
I happened to collect pliers (they are more practical and cheaper than rare postal stamps, aren't they?). I seemingly have all the high end staff -- from Knipex to some obscure/rare Japanese ones. 8.5 inch Vampliers were missing -- I did not think they are any good. I do not like so called "linesman" pliers. They have obnoxiously large head being too front heavy and have a gap between jaws (they say it helps with wire twisting, but the gap is much smaller than typical Romex so it makes no difference, except for inability to grab small/thin parts). I was wrong. I received the best linesman pliers. Pro #1. They move freely (that means the pliers open themselves when held horizontally by the upper handle). That is only 2nd pliers out of 100 or so that is not spring-assisted (i.e. manufacturers can do it but are not doing it for regular pliers; cost saving measure to increase profitability by a few cents per piece?). No need to spend 10 minutes with a valve lapping compound. Yahee! Pro #2. No these fancy rectangular plastic handles that Vampliers (and Engineers -- identical to Vampliers but much cheaper. Tools by Engineer are for those who know?). I bet these handles, along with fancy ridges all over, were made for one and only one purpose. To make blisters on user fingers in no time at all so the people will not forget what was used. These time, Vampliers used good old dipped handles. I would prefer plastic comfort grip handles (round ones and no deep print, please!), but existing handles are good enough, thank you! Pro #3. No beloved jaw gap. Jaws close all the way, like in regular pliers, and therefore are suitable for thin parts. Win! Pro #4. The head is not overly large or heavy and is quite proportional to the body. Two hand grip is not required. Your assistant does not need to look as a bodybuilder either. Isn't it nice? Pro #5. The handles are not overly thick, making the weight easily manageable. Remember, these pliers are larger than average anyways, so they are somewhat heavier than usual. The keyword here is "somewhat", not "shockingly much", making them nimble and easy to handle. Pro #6. Patented Vamplier stripped screw removal feature (a groove in the jaws that allows to grabbing and then twisting of remains of a screw). Because the groove offset to a side, it does not interfere with regular operation. And because the groove is smaller than usual, much smaller screws could be handled. 3mm (1/8 inch) in diameter easily. Smaller screws occur much more often than very large ones that could not be removed with pliers anyways. No need to carry small pliers for small screws. Pros #7. Super sharp sheer cutter makes cutting copper and aluminum wires a breeze (do not even think -- moreover try -- cutting steel or other hard objects, the cutter is not designed for such work, it will fail and will get damaged). Even the shape of the blades is good -- it tends to move the wire to the pivot (like the best wire cutters do) so the wire is easier to cut. Cutters are not needed anymore! Pro #8. Good built-in crimper (I use it a lot, it replaces dedicated crimping tool in at least 99% of cases). Pro #9. Very well made, like all Vampliers. Reasonably priced, which is highly unusual for anything Vamplier (you have to keep your legs, arms, and children. Surprised? Me too). Somebody thought when the tool was designed. Somebody cared when the tool was made. And somebody was not too greedy when the tool was sold. Highly recommended.

Excellent Wire Cutters, but Struggled Badly with #10/3 MC
The VAMPLIERS 8.5” Shearing Linesman Pliers are extremely sharp and make clean, precise cuts with no pinching. They’re outstanding for standard wire work and feel solid in the hand. However, after trying to cut #10/3 MC cable, the pivot pin started sticking and the handles began binding, making them difficult to use. Later, someone borrowed them and tried cutting a screw, which damaged the cutting teeth even further. Now they stick badly, and I’ll need to file them down to try to restore smooth operation. These pliers perform excellent when used for wire and lighter materials, but they’re not built for heavy-duty cuts. Still a great tool when used within its limits — 4 stars overall. Pros: • Extremely sharp and clean cuts • No pinching or crushing • Comfortable grip and easy to control • High quality for standard wire work Cons: • Handles bind after heavy cuts like #10/3 MC • Damaged cutting teeth after misuse • Not suited for hardened materials Pro Tip: Only use these for what’s stated and you will probably be in the clear. The sticking pin is my biggest issue the damaged teeth falls on me. Next to a set of KNIPEX High Leverage Lineman’s for size reference

Best pair of pliers I’ve ever owned
If you are able to clamp the screw then buy this and skip everything else! Works exactly as advertised. Very nice pair of pliers that have a good durable feeling when holding them. When using it, the grips are very comfortable as well. 10 out of 5 stars!
