Perfect Starter
Just what I needed....the starter is working perfectly but it was a tad bit difficult to install. If you do not have basic knowledge about removing/installing starters on Trailblazers, well, working on Trailblazers period.......it will be a challenge. If you have a friend assisting you, it won't be too much of a headache. Once the old starter is removed & the new ACDelco Professional starter is installed, you'll be a happy camper!!If you are in search of a quality starter at a unbeatable price (much much cheaper than the auto parts store), get the ACDelco Professional starter!

Fantastic Option
As a Business Manager that manufactures automotive parts, I am aware that rebuilt parts often receive a higher level of test and inspection before shipment. With great confidence, I ordered this rebuilt product at reduced cost.- The part actually arrived earlier than expected.- The part was NEW - Not rebuilt as expected.- Detailed directions were provided, along with a phone number for Technical Support - I called with a question - the phone was immediately answered by a REAL LIVE PERSON who was able to help. Further, he explained that because a rebuilt part was not available, they shipped the new one, at the same price.- Understanding the high standards demanded by AC/Delco, I paid a little more for their product than I would have for what is advertised as a "comparable" import. However, it was still much less than the local auto parts store for the import I had passed on.Bottom Line.... With the Tech Assist over the phone, my vehicle was running within the hour and was extremely happy.

works great
Perfect factory fit part.for trailblazer owners: the easiest way to get the top nut is to to use an extension and slide it along the engine block. Plenty of room to get a hand on top of the nut from above. loosen the computer for additional access.

Failed within a year
Is there a warranty, yes. Can I have it replaced again, sure, after the 2nd one I won’t though. Warranty is through Delco so be prepared for that and not the ease of prime shipping. Terrible to replace on a Hummer H3, so for the third time replacing it I bought an original that has already lasted longer then the first 2 of these. Just saying.

It works"
I purchased this new starter for my wife's 2005 GMC Envoy SLT with the 4.2L engine. It is a little difficult to install just because the mounting nut on the back side is extremely difficult to reach. It definitely helps if you have a helper. Another trick is to remove the left front wheel, flip up the rubber flap and you will be staring straight at the starter. The nut is still tough to reach though. This part was brand new and not refurbished and it was $70 cheaper than my local auto parts stores. Plus I didn't have to mess with a core charge. It took me about an hour to replace the bad starter with this one and the car started right up and has been running great.

So far so good. Instructions on replacement listed below.
Old starter crapped out on 2002 Envoy 4.2L I6. Debated on buying reconditioned or aftermarket from auto part stores or rock auto. Found this delco starter new and at the best price. Somewhat easy to install. Starter located in a goofy place. If you're gonna do this yourself, the best way to install is by removing the left front wheel and going thru the flap on the wheel well. Having the help of a beer buddy looking down from the engine compartment and being your eyes will make this process go even quicker. You'll need a 19mm to remove lugs. Disconnect the battery. Use an 8mm and 13mm to remove the nuts securing the wires connected to the starter. A 15mm to remove the bolt securing the starter closest to the left side of the vehicle and a deep 15mm with a 6" extension to remove the nut off the stud on the far side of the starter. You may need to push the wire bundle out of the way a bit to get the socket on the far side. That is where your buddy's eyes from above come in handy. Replacement procedure is reverse and I would recommend putting a piece of tape or paper towel in the socket when you put the 15mm nut on the far side, that way it does fall off when you maneuver your socket into position. Once again guidance from your buddy is helpful here. Took me about 40 minutes start to finish.
