Arc International Luminarc Cow Butter Dish, 6-1/2-Inch by 2-3/4-Inch

I've owned this dish for about 2 years now. I absolutely love it. A couple years ago I was doing research to improve my diet and was reading about how healthy grass fed butter is, with it's 1 to 1 ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 oils. In my research I discovered that salted butter can be left un-refrigarated for up to 30 days. I never knew that and assumed it had to be refrigerated.For the last two years I've been keeping this dish on my counter and have loved how easy it is to use the soft butter for steamed vegetables and other uses, as opposed to the hard refrigerated butter. I still keep several pounds in the refrigerator but every evening add another 8oz slab of Kerrygold grass fed butter and it's soft by the next day.This dish easily fits the large 8oz (equivalent to two 4oz normal sticks) slabs that Kerrygold butter comes in. In the evening theres usually an inch or two of the slab left and when I add the new slab, I just use the hard refrigerated slab to shove the soft butter that's left to one end. Every couple of weeks I wash the dish.We're using even more butter these days and I thought about trying to fit two slabs on top of each other, but you have to let it get a little soft to do that. I've decided to buy a second one of these dishes and keep two slabs on the counter because I'm cooking more vegetable and sometimes steam up a couple of days worth at a time and put them in storage containers. 8oz just isn't enough to do all that.Having two soft butters dishes will give me more flexibility, like having one by the stove and one on the table as well.I really like the design of this dish. It's nice and heavy. The lid has the cow on it and is really easy to grab and lift off. I like the butter being in the deep dish which keeps it from getting out especially with kids (I have six), as opposed to flat dishes that use covers. I much prefer this deep dish with a flat, easy to lift lid.Like me, most people don't know they can keep salted butter at room temperature. It's fun share this fact with them. I love giving this to other people because nothing improves the flavor and health of food like grass fed butter and having it soft and easy to spread is one of the biggest improvements I've ever made to the efficiency of my meal prep. Simple, cheap but such a game changer.

It’s great to finally find a good quality butter dish that will hold European size butter. I actually like that it’s a dish where the butter in encloseda; this way once the butter starts being used daily, butter streaks and smears stay inside rather than get on the outside of a regular butter dish. Easy to wash in dishwasher. Recommend for Kerry Gold, French butter etc. Fits inside perfectly. I bought the one with the cow design on top and am glad I didn’t choose the plain one. The lid just fits on top and isn’t a snug fit but we haven’t found that to be problematic in any way. Overall happy with the butter dish and the price is reasonable.

Heavy glass. See through and keeps butter securely contained. I gave this one as a gift. (PS butter is always a messy affair.)

I love the well crafted dish. It's beautiful, durable a will hold a full pound (½ kilo) of butter. A pound block of butter from the store is too tall for the dish and will need to be smooshed down in order for the lid to seat properly.

I buy large pieces of butter, and this is a good fit. It is glass, and we broke our first lid, so hopefully, we'll be more careful with this one.
