Bought this really as a clothes line winch. It says it can hold 600lb load, and I can believe that. Real heavy duty cable included, although easily replaced with clothes line instead.Very sturdy construction, good value for money.

Bought for use with washing line, to make it easier for my wife to use. Probably a bit of overkill, but works absolutely fine - no complaints at all.

Absolutely brilliant piece of kit for the money. Only using it for light use, but seems very robust.

The winch arrived promptly and was well packaged. I use this to control the luffing of an aerial mast. It is very sturdy, was very easy to install and works well. The finish looks like it will survive the weather well. Happy to recommend.

Bought this to winch up an antenna mast in my back garden. The winch is more than adequate to lift a 25 kg load from horizontal to vertical position. The winch performed well winding up to about half way when the tail end of the steel rope being too long caused the winch to jam the ratchet. After lowering the mast I changed the steel rope to a normal nylon rope that greatly improved the winches performance until the ratchet jumped off the cog and the winch went into free fall. Fortunately no damage was done to the mast or antenna. I thing that the jamming of the rope on the ratchet put the ratchet and cog out of alignment.Not overly happy with this winch as the construction is just average at best and the steel rope is too stiff and the tail end of the rope was left too long damaging the ratchet mechanism when winding up.

The media could not be loaded. Sick to death of fighting with, and hurting my hands on, wire washing lines and heavy loads, fitted this to the corner of the house to leave space for the handle and it's made life so much easier. I can wind it up, wind it down or set the locking mechanism to the middle and do either silently, which is great for early morning or late night laundry.

Great value for money, it does the job, may need a little lubrication to get the locking mechanism to work well , but for 13.99 it's well worth the money.
