Works great! Don't have to buy batteries anymore!!
I used to have a similar system but the receiver took 3 'C' batteries and they didn't last long. The transmitter is similar and takes a 12v battery is still going after 2 years. I can not speak for the range, I have an outlet in my front closet so they are about 15feet apart with no problems at all. My front door is between the garage and house, so it is sheltered from the rain. I used the double sided tape with no problems so far, but it wouldn't be hard to attach it with screws. I like that it has 3 different ring tones, ranging from one simple ding up to a 5-7 second elegant sounding melody. The sound quality is very good and is loud enough to be heard in the whole house. If its too loud for you just put some clear tape over some, or all of the speaker slots. I doubt anyone will need to do this. Overall it is just what I wanted and was priced perfectly! If someone wants me to test the range I would be more than happy to plug it in at the other end of the house. Just reply to this post and I will do so :-)

Doorbell, Call Button, You Name it.
We own three of these little kits. They are very inexpensive but very durable. You can have multiple 'remotes' connecting to the same frequency to trigger all of the base stations in the house. This is very useful if you want to have one of the 'remotes' outside triggering 3 inside units. The remote dictates what tone will be played by the base units, all of the tones are loud and clear. We have one remote outside the front door as a door bell and two remotes in my room, one as a CALL switch and the other as a CODE BLUE switch like in a hospital. Since they are so inexpensive you can go wild with buying these and have a switch in different rooms to serve different functions. I have been thinking of putting a help button in the bathroom. The remotes seem waterproof, or at least in my experience they are, but don't submerge them. Reason I say this is I have had this product for 3 years since 2009 and the door bell remote outside is still fine. My only qualm with this product is how big and clunky the base units are, they could have made them half the size that they are now, if your outlets in your house are designed right it wont be a problem (mine are designed correctly) but if you are unlucky and have unusual outlets you can easily be wasting two outlets with one plug in.

Initially, a little trouble getting the battery compartment open, but the doorbell and chime are working great now!
Initially, I had trouble opening the battery compartment on the push button to put the battery in, even though I followed the instructions which said to insert tip of small screwdriver into slot A and twist. I ended up bending the little tab on the inside. Then because I'd bent it, I couldn't get it to close back up after putting the battery in. Also, the rubber button kept falling out. By stroke of luck, I finally was able to get the rubber button to stay in and the compartment to snap back closed. I then attached the button to the vinyl door frame of my door with Velcro tape. The sticky-back on the Velcro tape is VERY strong and it's not going to budge. Velcro sticks well to vinyl. And at the same time, if I do need to get that battery compartment open again, I can just detach the push button, change it and attach it back on the door frame. So far, the chime is working great. I like the Winchester tone, rather than just the plain ding-dong. I have the chime plugged into an outlet in my kitchen, about 8 feet away from the push button. The bell is loud and I love the flashing indicator light, since sometimes I wear headphones and may not hear it. I'm giving only 4 stars because of the difficulty with the battery compartment and the rubber button falling out. I almost ruined it trying to pry it open, but now that everything's put back together, it seems to be operating perfectly and I have no complaints. A good value, easy to install!

Simple Doorbell
I just wanted a replacement doorbell for the wireless one that bit the dust. This doorbell is great for the money. A little hard to get the cover off, but other than that, it works like a charm. It's not overly loud, but my house is small and I can hear it at the other end. The door chime (not the doorbell itself) lights up, which is a nice feature. Comes with an adhesive pad, but that didn't last overnight and I found it on the ground in the morning. Too much humidity! Best to use the pad to hold it in place while you drill the screw holes.

Here in Toronto the big-box hardware stores are dominated by two brands of wireless door chimes, and both are very poorly made. I know as I bought them. One had a decent chime, but the door switch was badly made as it was extremely fussy and was sensitive to temperature change, while the other had no range and poor plastic moulding in the switch, with the cover popping off and the battery falling out. After 2 months and 2 worthless door chimes, I was ready to pay anything to get something that works. I went online and found this Honeywell door chime and it has worked flawlessly since day one. I have had it for a few months and no issues. Great range and the switch lasted through the Toronto winter... very pleased with my purchase.
