Best USB Ports You’re Gonna Find!
Want one in the back? Throw one back there! Does your partner always take every port you have? Put one on your side and there’s! No but seriously I love these things. They work perfect for any vehicle I want to add some USB ports too. The most difficult part is just trying to find a good spot to put it! Otherwise it’s a pretty straight forward install, drill a hole big enough to fit the threads through and then secure it using the screw on tightener. I used quick splicers on the wires going to my cigarette lighter with some similar gauge wire then connect them to the USB ports. It charges my iPhone 8+’s wireless car charger, and occasionally another iPhone or device and charges them a pretty decent rate, similar if not faster than a normal wall connection.I’ve had three of these before, in each of my vehicles. Ones been in my older car for over a year and is still going strong! And my vehicles cig lighter stays on constantly, even when the key is out of the ignition. So these are constantly running and have yet to see them stop working or have any problems.

Ok so far, but...
First let me say, that this outlet is already better than a really similar product that I've recently purchased. The main reason is because it is made of a light aluminum and seems to be of good quality. However, I have noticed one slight problem or something I dislike, right off.The discrepancy is with the cover for the outlet. The best way I can describe it, is, that the embossed lettering on the front of the cover only mounts one way and is upside down when positioned for having the cover hanging from the bottom. By having the rubber cover hinge at the top, it will get in the way when you try an plug in your device. It "flops" down once you let go of the cover. If you try to simply rotate the cover to the bottom so it will hang out of the way, the lettering is upside down on the front of the cover. What's more, if you try and rotate the cover into the position I described, it will NOT fit correctly onto the outer diameter ridge or into the outlet holes. The tabs on the inside of the cover are just very slightly off center (meaning they are closer to the opposite side of the hinge), so it will not line up properly when placed in the other position. This isn't a problem if you don't mind the covers hanging down from the top. It's more of an aesthetic issue then a function problem. I just prefer they didn't emboss the cover and make it so it could be mounted either way.I haven't had the opportunity to wire this product up, as yet, to check that it actually works so I can't give a complete review right now. I just know that my initial impression is kind of on the fence. Besides the little nit picky cover thing, I also had a bit of disappointment when I contacted the company (blue fire) about getting a matching Cigarette Lighter Outlet. You see, I saw online that the company produces a near identical Dual USB outlet in a black plastic. This outlet comes with a 12V Cigarette Lighter with LED lights. Because the products were produced by the same company and they were almost identical except for the casing material being different. I had hoped they offered or could maybe produce, the Cigarette Lighter with a matching polished aluminum casing and finish. Then I could mount these items side by side and they would look great next to each other and have the added benefit of being made of a more durable material. No heat issues, because the cigarette lighter socket can not be used for an actual lighter (the heating element would burn up the LED lights, I know and understand that), so it would be used for plugging in electrical devices only. That's ok with me. To my dismay, the company said it does NOT and can NOT offer the Cigarette lighter plug in the silvery polished aluminum casing. I'm a little perplexed as to why but it is what it is for now. Hopefully in the near future they will reconsider that idea and make one available. It would be nice if they also produced the retaining ring in metal. The plastic might be easily stripped out so you'll have to be careful when tightening it down.Oh yeah, there also are no instructions so you may have to do some research on proper wiring if your not familiar with that. For the most part, I like the looks of this product and if it functions well then it will definitely be worth the money, it's just the other stuff makes you stop and think twice.

Good stuff
Nice.

works great and easy to install
easy to install but would be better if it came with connectors that the wires don’t fall out of them as they were not fully crimped

simple and easy
looks and works good on my boat. It didn't say anything about needing a fuse but I installed one to be safe

Very Sturdy, Installation was a Snap!
I used this USB charging socket to provide cell phone charging ports in the back of my 1991 Jeep XJ. I 3D printed a block off plate for the ashtray on the back of the center console and mounted the charger where the ashtray used to reside.I initially wired the charger to a non switched 12V power source, but realized I would need to change to a switched power source due to the blue LED light that would be running 24/7. There is no provision to wire the backlight to a separate accessory circuit, it is all or nothing. It is now fully installed on a switched power source and looks and operates great!
