5-year-old loves it!
I bought this book as it was recommended by my daughter’s Brainquest Pre-K-Kindergarten workbook. Out of all the books we got from their recommended list, this is the one she asks for over and over again. She loves the illustrations and the simplified re-telling of an ancient myth. Highly recommend this book!

Perfect for My Little Pandora
A great little board book for kids (great for toddlers but could still work for preschool aged kiddos) to teach what could happen if you are impatient. Also is a great way to introduce kids to Greek Myths, which it seems a lot of kids love.Pandora is a little girl who wants to open a box, but her mother says to wait. Instead she opens it and cupcakes go flying everywhere. But in the box one cupcake is left, and Pandora asks her mother if she still loves her. And of course she does. In the back of the book is a short version of Pandora's tale.My own little girl can be a bit too curious at times and this is a great book for her. She likes how each Mini Myths book ends on a positive note.

Cute take on the Pandora myth, with a few added benefits.
This book is a spin (for little kids) on the Pandora's Box myth. Very cute with lots of fun pictures. My two year old loves it.This book shows kids what happens if you're too impatient, but that's not all. It has an excellent use of action words including ones that young children are not necessarily exposed to every day (bouncing and leaning, as examples).I also really liked how Pandora expressed her fear that her mother might not loved her anymore and got reassurance (from her mother). That was an excellent way to talk about how parents still love their kids even when they make mistakes. This is definitely a wonderful addition to your young child's home library.

A silly first introduction to Greek mythology.
I purchased several of these mini-myths board books. Frankly I'm just tired of reading Cinderalla and Jack and the Beanstack and the like. I figure this is a great way to introduce my little girl to Greek mythology and maybe something will stick. The story is a bit silly, and concerns Pandora opening a box of cupcakes against her mother's instruction. As with the other mini-myths books, in the back of the book you'll get a summary of the actual myth.I would caution you to not be expecting too much of a story. It's really more of a picture book, with a few words here and there.

In the back of the book is a small entry that gives you a better look at what the story is about
So cute! I am planning on getting the entire set! I can't wait until my baby gets a little bit older and I can start reading them to him. In the back of the book is a small entry that gives you a better look at what the story is about. I love it. :)

I was disappointed in this book
I was disappointed in this book. So excited to teach the little all about mythology, but the actual book doesn't teach the stories. Pandora doesn't listen about opening a present and it explodes. She's immediately forgiven. Not quite sure how this teaches patience. There is a great synopsis in the back of the actual mythology, which is great.

Not recommended
I had great hopes for this book, but I was extremely disappointed both by the story and the quality of the book. I had purchased a new book, and although the book is made of hard cardboard pages, the pages contained smudges and spots, as if the colors had transferred from one page to the next. The art work is very cartoonish and contains only one image per page. The only time the words "Be Patient" are used is on the title page. The story is extremely distorted. The mother tells Pandora not to open the box. The following pages show Pandora touching the box and even gleefully jumping on the box. The box opens and cupcakes burst out. Mother calls out, "Oh, Pandora!" Pandora replies," I'm sorry. I hope you still love me." The mother then hugs the little girl and tells her she loves her. The End. The word 'hope" is in a different color and capitalized, but I doubt that a small child would understand its relevance to the myth. A back page explains the myth. I cannot recommend this book because it sends the wrong message and really has nothing to do with being patient. I returned the book.

A bit different from the rest of the baby shelf
This book is adorable. The retelling is a bit abstract, but is great for babies to learn a lesson. The last page includes a quick version of the actual Greek myth which is a great refresher if it's been a while since you read the mythology in school. The illustration style is simple, but engaging, lots of color and still not overstimulating so works well as a bedtime story. I like that this series seems to use different racial features for the characters (e.g. this book the family looks to be of Asian descent, the Hercules one advertised on the back looks to be white/European descent). Representation is also nice to see, especially in books aimed at very small children. I will be adding to our library from this collection for sure.
