Only slightly better than reusing a cork
I've given this wine pump a thorough testing, having probably used it on at least 30+ different wine bottles so far, and have concluded that it doesn't pump/seal air out quite as well as my original wine pump (Rabbit wine pump). The reason I decided to get this one was because I wanted to lay the bottle on its side without fear of it leaking (the other leaked terribly), and I'd say it's worked 9 out of 10 times without leakage; however, it did leak from the middle button on one occasion. I've also noticed it's not entirely universal in sealing wine bottles, especially with white wines, as I can recount specific pinto grigio and sauvignon blanc bottles being very loose-fitting and would've been better served reusing the cork/screw-cap. As for bold reds in particular, I've noticed the next day a discernible flatness to it that isn't as apparent with my other wine pump (definitely a far cry from the 14-day claim).I've also had issues with the faulty button not releasing the air. Not a big deal, since I just end up pulling the pump out with more fanfare than I'd like (a big pop!). In all, I'd say this is more like a 2 1/2-star product, but I bumped it up slightly since the pump does seem durable. However, in terms of preserving the wine, it was only slightly better than reusing a cork, and for that I don't think it's really worth the price—and so the hunt for a better wine preserver continues…

Cheap, durable, easy!
This pump is EASY! I work at a restaurant where we regularly have bottles half used and a variety of different pumps to keep wine fresh. I have used a plastic version of this style pump and the handles have broken, the pump slips around and seal is not always as tight as you would like. The FastOVacuum plugs snap snuggly onto bottle mouths and only takes a good 4-5 quick pumps before completely sealed. The pump itself sits firmly on the plugs and doesn't feel like it's going to break in your hands. The plugs quick release feature is great as well.. 2-seconds and you're ready to pour again.I have been getting into drinking more wine at home but only enjoy a glass or two at a time. This is a very affordable pump that can very quickly pay for itself for those who like fresh tasting wine.

I knew it was a lot better quality than the one I had
I bought this wine pump as a replacement to one I have used for several years. Right off the bat, I knew it was a lot better quality than the one I had. It isn't the fanciest money can buy, but for the price, it is great quality. It is very easy to pump. My wine lasts days longer than it did with my old pump. The flavor is barely different days later than from the first day you opened the wine! Highly recommend this product.

Great gift idea!
We absolutely love this device! It is simple to use and more importantly, IT WORKS! Our wine stays fresh for several days (we rarely need more than 2 days, I’m sure it would last longer). We’re ordering several more as these will make excellent gifts for our wine loving friends! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Great product!
I had the Vacu Vin wine saver pump before, but the tops kept splitting at the seam and not holding the vacuum. This seems to be a little different system, but works much better. I doesn't click so it took a while for us to figure out just how many pumps it takes to create a good vacuum, but we got the hang of it; a few pumps usually do the trick. The stoppers fit the wine bottles better than the Vacu Vin and I think this pump creates a much better vacuum; I also think the wine keeps longer with this pump. I'm so glad I decided to buy this wine saver!

I was initially skeptical about this item as it did not feel sturdy and was considerably lighter than my previous vac
I purchased this to replace an Oneida vac which has broken. I was initially skeptical about this item as it did not feel sturdy and was considerably lighter than my previous vac. This vac performs much better than what I had with a very strong vacuum achieved with minimal effort. The stoppers are tight - you will need to use some pressure to plug a bottle tightly. It maintains a vacuum with no slow leaks which are a problem with some of my old stoppers. This vac also works great on other stoppers so if you have a big wine party, you can plug several bottles with this.

Savour the Favour
I like wine. I do not like that it goes bad so fast. I'm a single person and I cannot drink a whole bottle on one go! So, I went looking for a reusable cor of some kind. Who knew there were so many? I did not. I settled on this one due to it being a vacuum seal and it comes with 2 "corks" and it was cost effective too. I recommend this wine stopper for anyone that loves wine as much as I do and wants to keep it longer than just a few days.

Questionable performance
Recently received the pump and as of this review used to seal three bottles. The bluster pack containing the pump and two stoppers had instructions on the back specifying the number of pumps required to seal bottles of varying degrees of "emptiness." At this point in time, I am neutral on the performance of the item in terms of its effectiveness to seal and preserve a partially empty bottle of wine. Bottles were sealed only overnight. Other than the information on the package, it is difficult to determine how much air was evacuated from the bottle. The recommended amount of pumps seemed inadequate. When the stopper was pressed to repressurize the bottle only a limited amount of air seemed to rush in. In other words, there was little sensory feedback to validate the item's effectiveness. Guess have to have a bottled sealed a few days to answer that question.
