Bought to replace a broken closure, easy to fit and does the job and good value for money

The supports themselves seem to be of decent quality, and the instructions that come with them are detailed and professionally drawn - it's a shame that they only cover vertical (cabinet door) installations and are absolutely useless to someone who wants to use the product to support a lid (i.e. on a toy box or bin box). If you follow the provided measurements for this scenario you are very likely to end up with a lid that will - yes - stay up in the fully open position, but then will just slam at some point on its way down.I lack the mechanical engineering skills sadly to calculate precisely the force that is generated even by a modestly weighed door when it is at a 10-15 degree angle to the horizontally positioned piston, but it must be pretty significant, because the 250N support just folds like an empty syringe!For clarity, the supports CAN be used for lids, and a pair of 250Ns can handle a really heavy one I'm sure - but they need to be installed completely differently to what is described in the enclosed manual! In my case it took quite a bit of trial and error (so a lot of holes :P) to find the perfect balance allowing the lid to close all the way down and remain closed, but do it softly the whole way down.

Good quality. Easy to install. Brought to replace some broken struts. Performs as expected.
