The wife is treated like a child
I would have rated this book higher if the women had been treated as adults. Haven is an unusual town; one with several menage relationships. No problem with that at all. I do take issue with the women being treated as children, with the men calling to report "bad behavior on the part of the female, and her men spanking her. There was no eroticism with these spankings; they were demeaning; for "risking her safety or well being". Forgetting a cell phone or speeding warranted punishment. The women were told to strip and put their nose in a corner until they were ready to deal with them on more than one occasion. The women are "precious" but then spanked 20 or more hard hits. The wife is treated like a child, unable of making her own decisions, then after spankings she tearfully agrees with how wrong/stupid/inconsiderate she was to have put herself in that situation. They all Need this type of relationship. Offensive.

Terrible
Lila should have been taken to see a therapist when Clay adopted her. The boys should have been also. Why did Lila's eyes change from hazel to blue, back to hazel? The plot, if there really was one, was weak. Very, very, very weak. Spelling was a huge problem, except for the curse words, of which miraculously, the author spelled every one of them correctly. It is possible to tell a romantic story WITHOUT cursing and using disgusting euphemisms in every other line and/ or paragraph.Nobody was very likeable. Lila was pretty much stuck in little girl mode, that switched to vixen, from time to time, or smart mouth teenager. A MATURE woman, she was not.Gavin acted like a brute under a veneer of civilized man.Trace was ok but no one to cheer about. Actually, he didn't really have an identity, just waffled between acting like Colin or Gavin.Colin, of course, was the brooding one, because there has to be one in every story, right? He was supposedly the comedic of the three men, but he wasn't funny. In fact, what he said about thunder was very offensive. And the infractions, very small infractions that the men deemed worthy of spankings, were just an excuse for them to abuse the women in their town. Every one of them disgusted me. And the women were wimpy, and suffered from Stockholm syndrome.Everyone cursed. Filthy. No one drew any heartfelt emotions, except for Clay. This was a huge failure in my opinion.

It has a fantastic plot, I loved it.
Wow, I literally could not stop reading this book. I even drained the battery on my phone. I was drawn in by the prologue, and more by the first chapters. It is an amazing story of finding love, learning to trust, loss, and in the end gaining more that you could ever imagine. To be fair I will give a warning that this is a book of three men and one woman that do make love a few times in the story. It that is something that is offensive to you, well you may not want to read this book. If you are offended by men being protective and enforcing that protection in a loving manner but see a spanking as brutal and abusive then this book is not for you. If you can look past that you will find a wonderful story with which I believe has a strong plot. I have to admit that the first several chapters I cried buckets. I used paper towel to dab my eyes cause they are just way more absorbent than tissue. Remember when you read this it is a romance/fiction. Let the story carry you away. See how these four people strive to build a relationship in their own way. I loved it and to be honest though I don’t think I could handle living with more than one man I wish that more men would care and love their partners like this. Everything was done with love.Lila had a very difficult start to her life. At seven years of age she snuck out the window of the apartment she shared with her mother as she had a so call guest coming in. A guest that had mean eyes to Lila and she was afraid of him. She sat crouched down in the alley in the cold scared when a thunderstorm hit. It was her luck though she didn’t know it at the time that Clay and two of his foster son’s Collin and Travis had come into the alley to escape the down pour. Clay found her huddled there freezing and terrified. He then found her mother beaten in the apartment and had her rushed to the hospital. It was at the hospital Clay found out that her mother didn’t want the child. Clay was determined to take her back home with him to Texas and to his ranch and take care of her.Lila never felt secure in her heart. She had tried her best to be the perfect child. Never getting into trouble; making perfect grades. She had the constant fear that if she did something wrong Clay would send her away. In truth he would never do that he loved her and adopted her as his daughter. She grew up with Gavin, Trace, and Collin. They were not his blood children either. The parents of Trace and Collin had died in an accident. Clay was their godfather and guardian if something were to happen to them. Unfortunately he was out of town and the two young boys were put into the foster system. It was in the foster home that the met Gavin. Gavin took an instant liking to the boys and protected them from the other kids. When Clay came to get Trace and Collin they told Clay they were not leaving without Gavin. After hearing what he did for the younger one Clay took him home as well and they became a family. As she grew up Lila realized that she had feelings for the three guys that were more than a sister bond. However she felt that they didn’t want her, and she had to leave so that she wouldn’t have to deal with the heartbreak of being around them all of the time. It was a huge misunderstanding, and unfortunately it took tragedy to have the guys go and fetch to woman they loved. They all had a lot of work to do to make things right, to over come things of the past. But then the past literally came back up and confronted them head on. Not once but twice. Will they be strong enough to withstand the trials that they will encounter? Will Lila be strong enough to open her heart with out fear and embrace the love she thought she would never have.

Only read this if you can put up with a lot of typos and grammatical errors!
Now I know that I picked up this book for free but if an author is going to publish their work shouldn't they be publishing something that they are proud of? I have no problems with the subject matter which is rancher adopts three teenage sons and later one younger daughter. Fast forward 16 years, rancher passes away, sons are now grown men and want to have a group consensual relationship with the now young woman. There's some mild discipline scenes and a couple of menage scenes. The story would have been a lot better if not for all the errors! For example, it is SMELLED not SMELT unless they were referring to a fish! And when a character orders juice in a restaurant but is served MILK. And all the missing or unneeded words just made this a below average book. It only cost me the day that I spent reading it but I still feel as if I overpaid.

Cute book, but not quite there
I got this book for free, so I decided to give it a shot even though I was not a big fan of the first Old-fashioned man series. But I am a fan of the Montana Daddy series. I think this book is better than the first Old-fashioned book, but not as good as the Montana series.I think there were too many guys. I don’t necessarily dislike more than one, but if an author wants to tackle that kind of scenario, a lot of extra effort needs to go into developing the characters because there are so many. I don’t think these guys got enough individual development and they felt more like props.I am glad that Lila wasn’t too stubborn and difficult. She was flawed, but not “too stupid to live” flawed, like some heroines who make getting themselves killed their ultimate goal in life.

Emotional menage romance
No plot spoilersNo potential triggersThe characterisation is good, with believable personality traits and individual motivators. The plotline is engaging, ensuring you keep turning the pages and it's highly emotional in places, you will need tissues! There are some MFM sex scenes and some swearing. There are no errors that I can recall. It's a HEA, with a good storyline to support it.If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the series but would advise you read from the beginning to obtain the best reading experience.

Thoroughly enjoyable read. Liked all the characters even if laya was always getting into trouble. Three men who have waited for years for her to return home, the past catching up with her and a mad jealous ex creating havoc.

Light and easy to read/
I would have loved to have read more about Clay in this story, the story came about because of him yet he seemed to be a bit of a missing limb. The only downside was how the guys became so "protective" of Lila it became a little too controlling and oppressive, in my opinion. I did like to see how they dealt with outside threats as a unit. A light story with a lot of scenarios going on. An enjoyable read.

Menage a Quatre Had Me Hooked
I thought this book was great. If you are into stories about dominant men who believe in domestic discipline and you enjoy fantasies where there is more than one man - in this book there are three men who love one woman - then this is the book for you. It is a slow developer and the sex is not overdone and the men are all so caring and protective of Lila.I was hooked on this from the first page when a seven year old girl is rescued from a life of deprivation by a Texan rancher (Clay) and his three adopted teenage sons. Fast forward sixteen years when they are all grown up and are brought together because Clay is dying. The three young men are still very protective of their adopted baby sister but are now sexually drawn to her. There were quite a few printing errors with missing words or extra words so the book does need editing.I enjoyed this as much as 'Lily's Cowboys' by S.E. Smith which is another of this genre.
