Dulcimer Chord Book

Very useful explanation of modes. Tiny fonts sometimes illegible.
Good overview of basics. Carefully explains modes, circle of 5ths, scales. Sometimes the fonts are so tiny or not clearly printed it's not entirely legible on the Kindle version.. The printed book is better. Good addition to a beginner's library and good reference for intermediate and more advanced students. Highly recommended by my dulcimer instructor.

Perfect
I almost didn’t get this because a few reviews shared that they couldn’t read or see it. Judging by the size of this booklet? They fit as much as was possible on the page. I think it was a perfect purchase.

Dulcimer Chords: Notes on the modes
I noticed only one discrepancy in the book, and it is a small one--but that was at a cursory glance. The book rightly states that the ancient Dorian mode was from E to E descending in two tetrachords but then, BEFORE it explains that the modern Dorian would fit the pattern of D to D ascending, the author uses "Greensleeves" as an example of Dorian. I think one has to be careful to note which Dorian is used for Greensleeves. Maybe I'm being too hasty, but if I hum the tune to myself, D to D fits but E to E does not.Otherwise, probably a very useful book and I'm glad I have it.

Not for everyone, but helpful for me.
If you really want to get into learning the Mountain Dulcimer, this book it very helpful. It shows the different tunings and the notes produced by each tuning. I don't think this book would be very helpful for someone that cannot read notes or someone that plays by ear. This is more for someone that really wants to get into the music theory of playing the instrument. It's not a book for everyone, but it has been helpful for me because I can read music and have played other instruments. The string instruments are new to me and I want to learn the tuning and music theory used for them.

If you need it, buy it.
I found I really didn't need this book. Also, too small of print. But lets be fair, it could work for others, that's why 4 stars. If you learn in the beginning to play by tab and ear, there is no need for this book, plus you will find close to this same info in other learning books with large print.

Dulcimer Chord Book
The book came promptly, considering it had come from New Jersey(USA). It is a very useful book, with lots of helpful information on Tunings & Chords. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the dulcimer. I would add it's a must have. The price was very reasonable too, these tutors are usually much dearer. I only paid just over £5 & that includes postage too.

Very poor transfer to iPad.
A bit like using an iPhone app on an iPad - slim page in middle of screen. Makes some chord fingerings very difficult to read.

Yep this one is fine
My problem is not the book it's fine and helps immensely..But my instrument is a "Dulcelale" or maybe a "Ukumer" so all info is back to front for me ..but its great if you've got a dulcimer with the higher strings nearest to your body...

Good overview of what you need to know
Won't tell you how to play the thing - which ain't rocket science. But if you want the rocket scientifics of the thing, this book has it.
