This absolutely falls under "buyer beware" ... I was impulsively shopping and saw this and assumed that it would be sturdy and have some way of supporting the canvas that would be put on it. I am clearly not an artist or I would have noticed right away this would be an issue. My daughter was laughing when she opened up the package to see something that would probably not even hold my pot holders off the hooks let alone support the weight of a canvas ---- also another note, there are no grips on the bottom of the wood stands so even if you had a small canvas to put on here - you would be sliding all over the place unless you put your own grippers on there. DO NOT waste your money like I did.

This easel is useless. It's tiny. What's worse, is it can barely hold a 9 x 12 canvas (which is quite small) without wobbling horribly or falling over. You can not paint with this. At most you could use it to set a very small canvas on it as a frame of sorts. It's very cheap, glue visible. Not solid--moves very easily. This is way too expensive for how cheap a product. We were very surprised and disappointed (whence the poor review). We ended up not using this easel and still had to go buy one at a hobby store. At least there we bought a real easel that's sturdy AND it was cheaper than this overpriced wooden sticks bundle glued together precariously.Do not buy.

I purchased this on sale and thought I was getting a much larger easel. I should have known better since the description did not give the dimensions. I thought for the price (around $16 at about half the original price), it would be larger. It was only about five inches wide. I returned it since I needed a full sized easel to use for painting and bought what I really needed on sale at Michael's for $7. Amazon is always great on returns.

This easel was just the right size to display a small piece of art I have. However, the quality is so poor it is unusable. There is nothing to stop the rear leg as it swings back, so it moves back much too far and will not hold the easel up. And while I didn't expect old-world craftsmanship at this price, the visible staples on the side and the poor quality joint where the two front pieces meet at the top were unacceptable.

Got this for my mom. She is in her 80s now and doesn't paint as much as she used to. This little easel can be used while she sits at the kitchen table so no more standing. I think she will like it! Folded up it fits right in her Christmas stocking! It would also be good for a child. Very simple to stand up on the desk or table and to fold up when finished.

This easel is very simple and works perfectly. I was able to take it out of the box and begin using it immediately - no assembly!It is light as a feather and this is exactly what I wanted. I purchased it to display a special painting on my hutch, and the quality is great. It folds up nicely as well.I am already planning on ordering another one, to use in my kitchen.
