Great for reviving old HDTV, though not without occasional issues.
This product has been very handy for me and my family, providing a use for our oldest HD TV which only supports DVI. It has allowed us to use various HDMI devices (such as Nintendo Switch) on the TV with little-to-no problems so far. However, much as I would have loved to give this product 5 stars, there have been some technical issues popping up in recent weeks, including the odd audio hiccup and occasional video blackouts. That said, I have yet to determine whether this is due to the converter, the TV or my own DVI cable, so I think it still deserves 4 stars for the time being.

Just works flawlessly
There's not much to say about this adapter. You just plug it in and connect a cable to the relevant port and away you go. I've used this to convert HDMI to analogue VGA and DVI and the picture quality was flawless in my opinion. I kept the adapter for a couple of years whilst I went through various monitors, then sold it on - still working pefectly.Comes with protective plastic sheet top and bottom, so if you look after it, it will still look like knew when you've finished using it.I didn't try connecting VGA and DVI monitors at the same time, but presumably this would work, albeit with the limitation that both monitors would only ever display the same thing.Cheap and cheerful and there's honestly no point looking for anything more expensive as I don't think you'll gain anything in terms of picture quality in doing so.

Connect Laptop to 2nd Screen
Using it to connect my new laptop that only has HDMI output to an older monitor that only has VGA input. So far all good, the old monitor connected through this switch works fine as a second screen.

Very nifty and useful tool for anyone wanting a flexible setup!
In a search for a cheaper alternative to an AV receiver device to be able to separate audio from my HDMI Fire TV stick, I stumbled across this product which seemed at first to be an ideal solution. This device solved all my issues! The HDMI connector is a male connector which can be used to switch to a range of different outputs for an HDMI device such as a console. This can then allow your console to use HDMI, DVI or VGA with dedicated audio output for all three of these connectors! It was perfect for wanting to connect separate speakers to my Fire TV when my monitor didn't support audio out. This does require some external power in some instances, I found linking my laptop to not require any additional power but my MacBook did. In order to connect another HDMI male device (i.e. Chromecast, Fire TV, or extending an existing HDMI cable), simply order a HDMI female to female adapter to link them both together! The audio connection is simply from AUX and is compatible with a variety of audio devices, please note that this product has a female audio port for output. All in all, a fantastic device to expand the options of a regular HDMI cable to alternative outputs and even separating HDMI audio channels from video!

Fantastic for hooking up to older displays or outputs.
My monitors, although are "gaming monitors" 144hz and 60hz respectively, both use DVI-D, with the 60hz having a VGA input as well. Needless to say, I can't connect my old PS3 to any of these through its HDMI output, hence this device. However, I will say that the scaling of the image wasn't perfect, and left a few cm of black borders around the image, making for unused space on the monitor and a smaller overall image. I did knock off 1 star in "picture quality" for this, but it's fine for my needs, and I'm not recording through it.Other than the border issue, which is pretty trivial to be honest (and might be due to my monitor? Doubtful since I use this same monitor with VGA input for years...), the actual image quality is great for the price. Doesn't seem lossy at all, for what I could see anyway.Oh, and I charged the "internal battery" once; I've not needed to do so again, so take that for what you will.

Perfect for getting the audio out of HDMI to a TV/Monitor with no HDMI socket
I wanted to plug the latest 4K Fire TV stick into an old telly that only has VGA and DVI inputs. I can use an HDMI to DVI-D adapter but this will not carry the audio to the TV. I purchased this little box and used the HDMI input with a female coupler to connect to the Fire Stick. I then used the HDMI output of the box to plug into my TV's DVI adapter, I then plugged the supplied audio cable into the 3.5mm audio jack of the box and my TV's audio input and voila, it's all working. I didn't even bother using the micro USB cable to power the box.I haven't tried using the box to connect to multiple screens but for my purpose it was perfect. The box may need additional power for multiple screens or longer cables but was fine being powered by HDMI for my simple setup.

Cable worked and allowed bluray input
I had an older 1366 x 768 TV screen (Sharp LC-32GD1E) with a DVI input but no HDMI input so I could not connect a bluray player without this cable. The result is not a crystal sharp 1080i but it is TV quality. (I blame the screen rather than the connector for this. Afterall screen is not 1920 × 1080 pixels). The USB power connector was not needed but is useful as a power lead for my kindle. Note it is not simply a question of connecting the cable as you have to go through the input settings of your device to get it to work but after half an hour and reading the manual this was fixed. The TV says its a 1080i input you may achieve 1080p on a different screen? Probably but I can't verify.

Worked like a charm
I needed to couple two computers for live streaming purposes. One was the local presentation machine driving the projector and the other was the streaming service with cameras. Trying to do both jobs on one computer was too much for a laptop and led to problems with audio feedback. This gizmo allowed me to grab the projector signal and feed it to both the projector VGA input and the OBS software with HDMI convertor in the streaming machine. It even sent the sound from projected videos and the audio jack allowed me to feed the PA system as well. I couldn't have asked for more..
