I like that this rope grab has positive locking action and needs to be manually released to slide. As a rookie roof walker, I like that security. At first I thought it would be difficult to release but it's not. But once the rope goes in, you just squeeze it. It would be handy if it had the ability to switch directions w/o re-threading it on the rope. Such as if you had the rope secured on both ends and wanted to cross the peak. Nothing is perfect. If you're going on a roof, do consider using a safety line.
