Sturdy. Love the door.
I have 3 of the gates. One at foot of stairs. 2 others in doorways. They are so sturdy and easy to open door. The one on stairs I added one extra rail. It was a piece of cake to assemble. Be sure to know the gap at top is not a problem. Proper installation closes the gap. Great price for such a well made product.

Works great to keep the dog from eating the cat food while allowing the cats easy access.
I inherited a large dog who decided that she liked cat food as a snack. I moved the cat food to a different room but it didn’t take long until she found the cat food and cleaned the bowls.I was getting ready to go out of town, so I had to figure out how to keep the cat food for the cats. This was the perfect answer. The cats didn’t really like the swing door, but it was easy to remove it.I like that you can put the gate stop on either side so that even a big sweet dog like mine can’t push the door in Eve if I have not locked it.Lastly, it is attractive and sturdy.

Great gate
Overall this is a great gate. I bought it to keep my dog out of the laundry area but still allow my kitties passage, since that’s where their food dishes are.Pros:- It seems very sturdy and well-made- It’s relatively easy to install; as some of the other reviews have mentioned, it does appear warped before you install it, but this is because it’s a tension-based gate. Once it’s installed correctly, it will straighten out- The walk-through gate is nice and wide for easy human passage—reviews for some of the other gates I looked at complained about how narrow they were.- The gate overall is a good height. Although my dog is relatively intimidated by a fence of any height, this gate is easy to reach down and push/pull on. No extra bending or reaching.Cons:- The handle is honestly kind of difficult to operate, or at least the locking mechanism is. We’ve gotten to where we just leave the gate closed but unlatched so we don’t have to mess with the locks every time.- There’s a little bit of an edge on the bottom of the cat door rim that catches on the gate so the door doesn’t swing freely very well, and one of my cats has trouble even pushing it open. We ended up just using duct tape to hold it open until we have a chance to try to file down that edge a little.Again, this is a good gate overall, and I think it will end up being perfect for our needs. I also should note that I ordered some protective wall cups to help keep the tension spindles from scratching or damaging the door casing where the gate is set up, but it turned out the gate actually came with some protective cups as well as some adhesive pads.Update: filing down the bottom of the cat door worked great and now it swings freely (though we've still had it taped up for a while just until the kitties get used to using it). We also discovered that you can wedge something thin under the handle (so far we're just using duct tape—very classy) to keep it from laying flat against the top of the gate; it can still turn far enough that the latch catches and effectively keeps the gate shut, but not so far that the locking mechanism engages. Then it's easy to just open and close the gate with the handle rather than mess with the little triangle-shaped sliders that unlock it.

Excellent Product - Nice Wide Gate!!
We just bought and received our second gate after buying our first one last week and now have it installed at the bottom of our stairs. We bought this gate because our other one was tall and had a fairly narrow opening, which made it hard to go through if you were carrying something or happen to be a bit on the heavy side. This gate is fantastic with a nice wide opening to get through. In addition it is slightly shorter and hits just below the hip so going in and out is easy. The gate door also swings both ways unless you don't want it to then you just put the tab down so it won't. We have learned that if you leave the handle up just a bit and not totally engaged/locked, it is quite easy to open with just one hand and still keeps my puppy from being able to push the gate open and go through.

Awesome Gate!
Greet gate/sturdy easy to assemble. Option to use pads or screws or combination. (We used one screw and pad to secure upper portion of gate to rounded wooden post) Works like a charm and one handed secure gate release easy to use.

Perfect pet gate
Easy to install, looks great, and works perfectly. I removed the swinging door to allow our cats to pass freely, and this works well to keep our dog out of the room with our cat's food. The gate unlatches easily, allowing us to pass through without the hassle of stepping over the gate. Wish we'd found this earlier!

Great pet gate!
This gate is awesome for keeping our large black lab out of the living room/kitchen when we need to while allowing our cats to go in and out as needed. It's much sturdier than the gate we'd previously used. I will say that it's easier to shut is you have it only open one direction rather than opening both directions, but overall this gate is great and easy to use!

Love this pet gate!
This gate looks very nice and has held up well so far. We removed the plastic flap from the pet door by partially unscrewing the housing holding the flap because our cats did not like the flap. The latching mechanism on the walk through portion of the gate is slightly more complicated to use, which is great if you have small children who are good at figuring out child security features.
