and often seems more useful to me than soluble fiber
This fiber is essential, and often seems more useful to me than soluble fiber. But, a balance of both is very important in any form of diet, whether from supplements like this and/or from food. The folks leaving bad reviews may not understand the nature of INsoluble fiber. It's going to keep its form, it will be gritty a bit, and it's NOT going to mix well in water. It's INSOLUBLE fiber. Same as in any food, it's what moves stuff through your system like a "broom". It speeds transit. Soluble MIXES and/or becomes gel-like in some cases, slowing digestion, adding bulk to doo doo. Both are useful and needed for normal function. Just understand that insoluble fiber isn't a "mix in water to dissolve" sort of thing. If you drink it fast, or mix it with, say, smoothies or something, it's fine. UPDATED: This has now priced itself out of sustainability for me. I'm now achieving same sorts of results and function buying NuNaturals Oat Fiber, which per ounce, or pound, is much cheaper, I get more insoluble fiber per like amount...AND, with oat fiber, I can bake with it, put it in smoothies, etc.

Regularity. Thats what it is for and does it very well.
Regularity. Thats what it is for and does it very well. Takes about 12 -36 hours for it move through the digestive track depending upon how fast your digestion is. It help eliminate any existing bloat or cramps as it moves through the intestines. I feel that it almost scrubs off the inner walls of the gunk and removes from the system. If you eat a lot of dairy (cheese, mild, yogurt etc), or too much sugary products, then you may have noticed that the next day bowels are not emptied well. But if you take 2 doses of this supplement, you will feel your system cleaned out. There is no discomfort. Tasteless and easy to take. Mix vigorously with cool water and drink it down. Easy. It also gives me a full feeling in stomach so that I do not eat too much.

Adequate & less expensive than "Dr. Natura" brand, but not as finely ground
Adequate methylcellulose fiber supplement. Less expensive than premium Dr. Natura, but the grind is not as fine, making it less easily dispersible in liquids and a bit gritty when mixed. Should be fine, however, when used in cooking. No flavorings, sweeteners, or other fillers.

Comparing Dr Natura UniFiber 8.4 oz to NutriCology Dietary Fiber Cellulose 8.8 oz
I bought a bottle of each of these so I could see what the difference was. Neither dissolves very well in hot water. Both taste slightly gritty with no real flavor. Either can be sprinkled on food or mixed into a smoothie. NutriCology is all cellulose, an insoluble fiber, 250 grams total. It lists 8 calories per 2 gram serving but that is what burning cellulose provides. Since cellulose is indigestible there are really no food calories at all. UniFiber contains 240 grams total but only 180 of that is insoluble fiber calculated by multiplying the 3 grams of fiber per serving times 60 servings. The remaining 60 grams are maltodextrin and xanthan gum. That is what provides the 4 food calories per serving listed on the label. The result is that UniFiber contains only 72% as much insoluble fiber as the NutriCology product. Seems like Unifiber should cost less but when I write this it costs more.

No, not this one.
I only drink insoluble fiber going on 6 years. That being said this formula smells like a strong chemical and has a weird sour sweet taste that goes with nothing. It is very gritty like sand too but that is ok and tolerable because its supposed to be insoluble BUT the flavor, seriously is intolerable, run from this one folks. There is another brand out there that has no smell, no taste, and is way less gritty. If you need something to mix with your drink or food and you don't want to taste it then this is not it. This stuff can't be put in anything without changing its flavor into a chemical type taste. They need to remove the smell and taste from this product. There's better out there.

good product
do like it. it's my 2nd order. It does taste like chalk when you try to dissolve it in water. But it works much better than psyllium husk for me. And it doesn't cause discomfort. highly satisfied.

Cellulose powder on OUTSIDE of sealed jar??
Please know I have not yet opened my jar of product, so this review pertains only to the way it's packaged. The jar comes with a clear plastic film around the outside of the jar. When I removed the plastic, I noticed white powder adhering to the outside of the jar. I thought this was strange, but proceeded to slowly remove the jar lid. I was able to unscrew the lid without loosening the seal on the jar; it was on good and tight. Therefore, I wonder how the powder gets on the outside of the jar. I guess this happens in the manufacturing process as the jar is getting filled. IMO, this shows a lack of quality control in the manufacturing process, which I have to admit, bothers me, given that I'm about to start consuming this product. It makes me wonder just how sanitary the product is, and why the manufacturer finds it acceptable to ship containers to the marketplace that are covered in product. Hopefully, you can see the white powder in my photo.
