Princeton Watercolor Travel Brush Set
These brushes are stunning. They are travel brushes with a self-contained case of rose gold. The brushes themselves are high quality that retain their beautiful pointed tip after use. They are an absolute joy to paint with. I love the faux leather carrying case with magnetic closure too. I would definitely recommend these watercolor brushes.

High-quality travel brushes at a great price
I have regular Princeton Aqua Elite brushes for watercolor painting and I wanted a set for painting while traveling, too. Rather than buy the Aqua Elite travel set (such that I'd end up doubling up on some sizes), I bought these instead to have a set of brushes with different characteristics. These Neptune brushes really do hold water well and the bristles feel luxurious. They don't have a lot of snap, so if that's your preference in a brush, you might really enjoy these (there is more snap with the Aqua Elite). With the caps on the back of the brush for painting, the balance feels nice (weighted slightly towards the back/end of the handle from the mid-point) and good for holding either closer to the ferrule or further back. The caps have holes at the end so that if you have to put your brush away wet (or want to do so to avoid bending back any bristles) the moisture won't be trapped inside. The copper/rose gold color is beautifully complimented by the wood-grain at the crimp. Oh yeah -- that's another thing I think is very elegant about these brushes -- there is no visible crimp on the ferrule, so the brushes are quite sleek in that respect. The range of sizes included in the set is quite versatile. A previous reviewer commented that the (vinyl) case doesn't fold over the brushes - that is true if the brush caps are off and placed on the backs of the brushes for painting. However, the case is meant to be closed when the brush caps are on, and it does so just fine. The elastics that hold the brushes are a bit tight at first, but elastic, being what it is, will loosen over time. (I have collapsible water cups with scalloped edges, so I use those as brush rests while paintine.) Finally, the best part was the price, which is substantially lower than MSRP and other art suppliers' online prices! For the price of just a little more than two individual travel brushes of this same type, I got four brushes and a case! That definitely makes this set a good value for the money.

Perfect for the artist on the go!
I love these travel brushes. I take my watercolors with me on the road, and this set is almost all I bring in terms of brushes. I throw these, a rigger, and a tiny detail brush in a make-up bag, along with my pencils and pens, and I am ready to take my paints on the road. They keep a nice point on the tip and open and close easily and snugly. highly recommend.

As expected
Princeton Neptune brushes as some of the thirstiest and most consistent brushes I have used. They have good snap and hold their points, the ferrules are solid and they hold up well to heavy use. These travel brishes seem to be no exception. They aren't crazy fragile and do not wear more than would be expected using paint in pans rather than tubes. (I have used them with student grade paint, artist grade (Daniel Smith, Senellier, MaimeriBlu and M. Graham) and artisanal quality paints. (Isaro and Greenleaf and Blueberry). My studio brushes have held for 2 years and counting, I look forward to many years of hiding these travel treasures in my backpack, next to my homemade tiny pallet. The caps fit very snugly and sometimes are not easy to remove, I had to use a bead of glue on the #6 to make it hold fast. This is, however, not something foreign to an artist but more something to be expected and planned for in advance. Most brushes end up getting a wee bit loosy goosy at the connection of ferrule and handle, those of this build with crimped metal ferrule anyway. Artist for more than a decade, watercolorist for nearly half of that.

Solid travel brush that does most things well
Minus one star for a slightly bent barrel. I had to rebend a bit to make the brush fit. That said, this is a very handsome workhorse of a brush. Holds a lot of water, a little floppy but with a decent point, just as you’d expect from the Neptune series. I just compared it to the Isabey travel brush also sold on here. Though Isabey is supposed to be sable, I found this one to actually perform better. The other brush didn’t hold a point. See photo for reference.

Awesome synthetic squirrel brushes
For anyone who might not know, squirrel hair brushes are quite soft, hold a lot of water, and are not super springy (they don't go back to the original shape after pushing down on the paper). These are great synthetic squirrel hair brushes, and I feel like the quality for the price is hard to beat. As long as you don't expect them to perform like sable or nylon brushes, you'll be happy. :) I bought these as an alternative to Escoda brushes and am super happy with my decision.

Wow
These brushes hold their points, have amazing paint capacity, and are so convenient to travel with. At the moment I travel to the family room with these ;), and paint on the couch, but nevertheless I find them more convenient than my traditional brushes because they have a handy pouch that keeps them together and when the cap is on the brush it takes up half the space. I just wish they made these in flats as well. Note I have a travel set that's kolinsky sable which cost more than $300 and these brushes work better at a fraction of the cost and no animals were harmed. Pricier isn't always better :).

This is a really nice set of 4 travel round brushes. The brushes fit nicely in a magnetic holder case and is a perfect size for travelling. I haven't used them yet but I'm impressed with what I see so far.

Die Qualitätskontrolle war nicht sehr stabil, daher habe ich es zweimal zurückgeschickt, bevor ich schließlich ein Set mit vier Stiften mit fest verschlossenen Kappen erhielt.

The Princeton travel set is excellent however for the PRICE of the kit WHY did they not fit magnets or even Velcro to the leather cover flaps to keep the kit closed when handling/traveling. I have had to put an elastic band over the flaps of the kit to prevent it opening accidentally.( makes the kit look "tacky") - poor design for a great product. I would be pleased to receive their feed back regarding my suggestion Bob : - "[email protected]"
