A scholarly but approachable study of the Biblical books known as the Apocrypha. The author draws links between the Apocrypha, Hebrew Scriptural passages and the teachings of Christ. The reader gets a clearer picture of how people of the time of Christ might have understood the sacred writings known to them.

As a fan of all sorts of "scriptural texts", I value this one. All are interesting and educational.

Wonderful little book that is written in a very accessible style. Serves as a good basis for introducing students and people in general to the works of the Hebrew Bible apocrypha.Thorough. Interesting thematic approach as well as an introduction to each book.
