Great to find this perfect material for a personal health product. The initial odor was strong like many mentioned, but that wore off after a little while. Very nice to work with and comfortable.

The material is good quality, but I suggest opening the packaging outside. it has a very strong chemical smell. I aired this out by putting it in my garage for about a week and the strong smell dissipated. It is always going to have a slight smell to it as this material is the same thing they make diving wet suits from. If it were not for the strong smell at first, I would have given this product 5 stars.

The product is fine except you need to find a place to let it air out. Stinks bad out of the bag. Don’t use the garage. Find a shed or a cloths line.

I could not even pull the material out of the packaging after opening the Amazon pouch it arrived in because the odor was SO toxic! I immediately grabbed the Amazon pouch it came in and sealed it back up. Those few seconds with it out of the Amazon delivery bag made our home unbearable for the next 2 hours. We all ended up with horrible headaches. The off-gassing and toxicity of this fabric reminds me of when our contractor had to put a chemical stripper on our back patio to remove the sealant and stain on the concrete. We had outdoor industrial fans blowing the odor away from the house for 2 weeks, which did very little. The smell also remained in our home for over 3 weeks. I've never come across a fabric like this before...EVER! It doesn't seem right. I'm fairly certain that if someone has this fabric anywhere near a flame that the entirety of the fabric would be instantly ablaze. I'm 100% returning this. No doubt about this. There's got to be alternatives to this.

I used this fabric to make a neoprene battery cover for my electric bike. It works well to keep it warm and dry. So far it seems like quality material. The fabric does have a VERY strong smell when you remove it from the package but it goes away after about 24 hours.

i read the reviews.. i still had hope, but even before opening it, the smell reeked. once out of the packaging, the smell was putrid. HAVE to air it out.

Worst things first: the fabric is about 16 inches wide MAXIMUM, if you order multiple yards it comes in separate pieces, and it smells awful when you first open it.That being said, it's the only legit neoprene I've been able to find on this site, and it can be pieced together to make larger sheets if needed.If you're getting this for tail-making (like myself), there are a few things you'll need to know:- This is only slightly stretchy. If you want something incredibly stretchy, go for spandex instead.- YOU WILL NEED TO PIECE IT TOGETHER. You'll either have to get creative with your patterning, or sew it into a large flat sheet and cut from that.- YOU WILL NEED A LOT OF IT. I ordered three yards originally before I knew it was barely a foot and a half wide. Now I need to order several more, as the three yard pieces are barely enough to make my fluke.- IT NEEDS TO AIR OUT BEFORE YOU USE IT. Seriously. It stinks. And the chemical smell it puts out might make you sick, so let it air out somewhere with very good ventillation.- Yes, you can put silicone on this. I plan on using aquarium sealant, as it can be piped out onto the tail to make scales easily, as opposed to using Smooth-on's DragonSkin PlatCure silicone, which is so runny you'd need to make scale sheets and piece them together.- It probably can't be sewn with a regular sewing machine. It's about 3mm thick and, as neoprene is, it's rubber. It will likely break your machine if you don't know how to sew it properly.That's pretty much it. A good bang-for-your-buck if you really need neoprene, but disappointing in its size.

Like said in many other reviews, this fabric does have a chemical smell when the package was opened. The smell went away after a couple hours, though! Otherwise, this fabric is perfect for what I’m making, and I will buy it again if I need it!
