A&R Sports Figure BladeGards Skate Guard

This is simple design. It is durable. After a year, it still looks like new.

It would be nice for the instructions to tell you to put the guard on the rear of the blade 1st, then the toe. If the guard is too loose, then adjust the strap & repeat.

edit: I was walking around with these on and the back fell off. I'm really not interested in adding more modifications so I'm going to upgrade to Rockerz Skate Guards next season. These are okay as long as you don't walk around at the rink but... that's not really an option. I subtracted a star because it's just kind of meh. More on the issue, it wasn't the bands that fell off but rather the guard, so considering it just doesn't stay on, it's not really worth it. It might be okay for you depending on your skates but it definitely wasn't for me. They're decent if you need to use some skate guards in a pinch for a little cheaper than normal. You get what you pay for, I guess.I purchased these a little while ago to protect my new skates. (Lake Placid Glider 4000, Mens Size 11.) These are wonderful and fit the lengths of the blades perfectly, but since the blades are much longer than you'd think (they stick out the back of the guards) the guards tend to slide off the toe. I love the color but it's slightly duller than the picture (at least for the mint.) It arrived quickly too, which was a bonus! When I reread the product description I was delighted to find out that it could stand up to most surfaces, which will make it much easier to put my skates on in the car and not waste fifteen minutes at the rink. Overall it's great and very sturdy, but if you have kids who will bend it, it's very flexible and won't break. Please keep in mind that this is my first set of blade guards so look at the other reviews and research yourself before you buy anything!If I can, I'll update this with pictures of my skates in the skate guards!By the way, I managed to find a way to keep the toe part of the skate guards on with materials I had on hand, but it's certainly not very... common. I ended up attaching command hooks and rubber bands to the product. It stays on great now and took about five minutes! Comment (can you comment?) if you want me to post a tutorial!

Works great but you have to have them cut to size. The ice skating center cuts them.

The absolute least expensive pair of skate guards by a few cents is the light pink color. But that color is no longer acceptable by my middle school aged daughter. So I bought the next least expensive colors and got a pair in Mint and another in Neon Pink. My daughter originally had originally talked me into a more expensive pair (changes colors mom!) and within less than 4 months, they wound up missing out of her skate bag, which we discovered when she needed to put them on at a competition. Thank goodness for soft skate guards in a pinch! Over the week, we have searched for the missing pair at the ice rink and haven't found them (I use a Sharpie to write initials onto the guards, since so many of them look identical). So now we have one pair and a back up. They are definitely more difficult to put on than the more expensive pair, but once you figure out the technique (put them on starting in the back, slide to the front while maintaining pressure to keep them on the blade) it's not so bad. I was able to purchase the two pairs of skate guards for less than we paid for 1 pair of the other ones. I'm sure it won't be long before the first pair we are using disappears as well.

Nice guards for the price. Cute color, god quality. We like that they are easy to use (adult size figure skates). They slip a bit when walking no matter how much we got it snug, which was a little frustrating, and the reason for a 4 not 5. I’d really say it’s a 4.5 not 4 but it won’t let me do that, and I don’t feel a 5. We do like them, though. Would purchase again.

Exactly what we needed, easy to cut to size, durable and lots of colour choices.

We ended up buying another set with springs as this style is a lot more tricky to put on the skates. Nice colour and we'll made, but not right for our needs.

the bungy or sproing portion to hold onto the skates is to stiff to stretch and does not hold onto skate well
