Gold Finish Pyx with Leather Burse

Our church has a nursing home ministry where we take pre-consecrated communion weekly to 35-40 people. We needed a portable pyx that would accommodate this many wafers - most only fit about 10. This is working out great. The zippered carry case ensures that the wafers remain secure in our bag during transportation, the gold finish tarnishes periodically but polishes up beautifully with brass cleaner and looks lovely on our altar. The shoulder strap is convenient when we return to our home church and have to transport the remaining wafers back up to the church's tabernacle.

Very nice quality. Large enough to be used on the alter, it really holds allot. Small enough to carry on visitation.

Attractive, nice size (somewhat large -- enough for multiple hospital visits). I only wish the fit was a bit more tight. Definitely a good deal and worth every penny.

I have two problems with this product. 1) the Pyx is not hinged, it’s just two pieces on top of each other. Reminds me of a cookie jar. 2) the burse zips down from the right side towards the bottom, then from right to left and then from the bottom to the top. In other words, it is not pocketed like a normal burse. You can’t open it while it is around your neck because the opening is on the bottom, not the top. I was very disappointed with this purchase and returned it the next day I got it. I needed another pyx because the one I have only holds six hosts, and I have had visits where my pyx did not hold enough hosts for the people I was visiting, so I had to borrow a bigger one from Church. I guess I’ll keep on shopping.
