The heart of Centering Prayer
I became involved in Centering Prayer after reading Thomas Keating, OSB. To me, Keating is all about the psychology of centering and one can get lost in his theory and diagrams. I read Pennington in the 80's and rediscovered him while searching for other books and approaches to Contemplative Prayer and Centering. Pennington had a way of sharing on a very intimate level and is books are a wonderful collection of his life and personal journey of faith. Basil Pennington, OSB is a must read for anyone interested in the Contemplative Prayer/Centering movement it is a much warmer and easier read than some of the books written by Keating on the subject.

Finding Grace
This book is a compilation of three peoples views on Centering prayer. Parts of the book were a bit deep others very similar to previous books and articles that 8 have read. As a participant in centering prayer I found this book a little bit of a let down.
