Cats need to sharpen their claws. It is part of their natural behavior, to remove the outer sheath of their growing nails. Cat owners must provide a quality scratching board to curb cats desire to claw on furniture. The Cat Scratch Board is made of pine, just the right hardness!.

Excellent quality, lasts sooo long & NO MESS
I have loved this product for 5 years because my cats LOVE it over everything else, it LASTS practically forever and no cardboard all over the house!!I want to purchase more now.Transitioning… My cats don’t like new things and had been used to the cardboard and I needed to keep 3 of them around to satisfy their spontaneous scratching and prevent scratching on unwanted items. I hated the cardboard everywhere all the time. After a little creative work and patience, this ONE scratcher has replaced them all.One of my cats was much slower to respond. Now they both prefer and enjoy this wood scratcher so much more. It’s fun to watch them really get into it. They love the resistance that the wood offers. Great, great idea!I want to buy more now!

Great Little Scratcher
Very nice scratcher. Lightweight but sturdy. All my cats took to it fairly quickly. It's simple, attractive and easy to put together. No hardware, slides together in a minute. No cardboard shreds and fluff all over the floor, as with the corrugated scratchers. If I had any wish, it would be that it was somewhat longer. Perhaps they will consider making another size. In any case, I'm very happy with the two I bought. By the way, if your kitties are not used to scratching on wood, they may need a little encouragement at first, but once they start, they're hooked. After all, what's a natural cat's real life scratching post? A tree.

It looks really nice & well made
It looks really nice & well made. But my cats prefer the my other longer leveled wood plank. Still give 4 stars because I like it, just not my cats.

It's a winner!
Not sure if it's worth almost $50, but it is very nicely constructed, super easy to put together. My 12 pound cat walked right over and started scratching. He needed no enticing. Nice to not have to worry about all the shredded cardboard or carpet fibers from other scratching posts.

Beautifully made and nice to look at. Sadly my moggie was not interested.

Thank goodness! Finally something made of wood that lures ...
Thank goodness! Finally something made of wood that lures my cat away from scratching my wood furniture. He loves the feel of the ridges. To hasten the transition, I also sprayed a deterrent on my furniture and cat nip spray on the scratcher.
