This is a great product. They look really nice, feel really nice, are made of high quality materials, and are really easy to apply. The only tricky thing is that the plastic which needs to be peeled off in order for the treads to adhere to stairs is hard to get going and remove cleanly. It seems like the plastic seal is sewn into the seem so removing it takes a box cutter and some care. But once the plastic is off it's great, they stick immediately and really stay put. Great for dog and human feet.

I loved the idea of the stair covers. They look great and they definitely keep the noise down. However, the adhesive did not work. We bought carpet tacks and nails the rugs to the stairs. The adhesive did not hold the rugs in place but the tacks worked great. No movement now. Good deal for the price which only took about 1/2 hour to install with the tacks.

UPDATE: After posting the below review the seller immediately reached out to me and gave me a refund and is replacing the defective tread. We've been using the stair treads for two months now, and with a new puppy, and the one tread in the picture is the only one that developed a hole. Clearly this one was defective since the rest are fine. I would now highly recommend these treads since the rest are holding up well with five adults and two dogs running up and down them daily. I've never experienced just great customer service from an Amazon seller.We bought these stair treads because we have a 12 year old mini dachshund who was starting to have trouble getting down our laminate stairs. The treads were super easy to install and adhered to the stairs perfectly without any additional tape or adhesive (humid Florida climate). They don’t add anything to the decor, and are pretty basic and boring, but they solved our problem...for the first four weeks. That’s when I noticed about a nickel size hole where the carpeting had worn off one of the treads. That was yesterday and today the spot is bigger. It’s clear these won’t last long and we’re a huge waste of money to have only lasted a month.

Update to my review from a few years ago: these have been on my stairs for more than 2 years and they have worked great! No slipping. High quality. It is time for me to move so I have been peeling them off the floor. There isn't even any residue. The backs still feel pretty sticky, so I have put some wax paper over them to preserve them for the move. Just an amazing product!Original review: Where I live, it is difficult to find carpet. I had to get this shipped overseas. Not a lot of companies will do that, so that was a plus for this company. The treads arrived in a timely fashion. They are of good quality. I read a number of the reviews on various aspects of installation, so I started with cleaning the stairs very well. First I dry dusted (swiffer type) and then wet mopped. Once dry, I moved to installation. The other concerning piece was pulling off the backing. First, there should be a starter corner on every tread. I didn't realize that until about tread #3. What I did that seemed to work was to take the starter corner at an angle with a wide swath and then peel it lengthwise across the middle, making an upper and lower half of left over covering. I then pulled off each half keeping my fingers close to the edges where the covering was sewn into the carpet. This seemed to make the peeling process pretty fast. As I logged back in to type this review, I noticed that there was a suggestion from the company to adhere a piece of packing tape to the covering to help out...I didn't think to try that, but can see how that might help as well. I did my best to only lay the carpet down once so as to not diminish the adhesive. I've been up and down the stairs about 5 times now without any problems. I'm reluctant to give adhesion 5 stars until I make it a few months with these things. Will reevaluate then.

I purchased these to go on some hardwood stairs. First, they do look good, are a good size, decent quality carpet and easy to install, however even after cleaning the stairs carefully to remove all dirt and oils they still slide and do not stick very well. Every couple of days I have to slide them back into place as they move from normal traffic. I intend to buy some carpet tape and tape them down, so they don't move anymore. Hope this helps.

Obsessed! My dog flies down the stairs any time she hears the doorbell or something makes a noise. She slips sometimes, and sometimes I do too. These are amazing. They stick really well without being tacky. They cover the edge of the stair which I love.

Absolutely recommend these! So easy to put on and they don’t slide at all! Also match great / look good. Have held up well for the few months we’ve had them even with pets in home.
