A Must-Read for Those Who Want and Support Smart Immigration Reform
This is a very well-sourced book that is interesting, educational, and entertaining. Historical perspective sets up the discussion and then exposes politicians' attempts to pacify (without actually fixing problems) those who want common-sense reforms. The authors also propose actual solutions to the problems they outline in the book. As also the grandchild of four immigrants, I especially loved the open letter to the authors' immigrant grandparents. This is definitely a politically incorrect book; however, it is fact-based. Hopefully it will bring forth some intellectually honest debate for a change.

Missing History
This was a really good book that is certainly not politically correct. The one area I was sure would be covered was how Eisenhower handled illegal immigration. I'm not allowed by the censors to mention the name of the program even though it is enshrined in our history. But the opposite terminology would be Operation Dry Front. This was our nation's most successful program for dealing with the immigration problem and yet there isn't a single reference to it in this book.

Worthless Propaganda
This is one of those anti-immigration books. It’s a very immature book as if it were written by middle schoolers. The authors start out in saying that it is rare to find calm, thoughtful Christian commentary on immigration, but this certainly is not it. The authors basically chose their narrative in advance and then set out to find something they can pass off as evidence to support their pre-determined narrative. Included in this book are plenty of examples of cluelessness, immaturity, blatant deception and outright lies. That the authors are clueless about the immigration issue in the United States is obvious. They claim that illegal immigrants are not protected by labor, health and safety laws. Federal and state labor, health and safety laws apply to illegal aliens as well as citizens and legal residents. There is no law that exempts illegal aliens, and government and private organizations like Casa de Maryland and Ayuda actively pursue enforcement of these laws. The fact that the authors aren’t aware of this is evidence of blatant ignorance and begs the question, “What are these guys doing writing a book on a subject about which they are clueless?”They are also clueless regarding free market principles. They claim that by promoting massive low-skill immigration endangers the crucial social matrix that makes the free market possible. It’s actually the opposite. Restricting participation in the labor market via immigration laws by definition undermines the free market. They also claim that The Know Nothings stared in 1949. You know? The Know Nothings? A political party in the US prominent in the 1850s.If their cluelessness is still in doubt after that one, then their claim that immigrant families today are not taking the path of hard work, self-reliance, independence and upward mobility should remove all doubt. I am fortunate enough to live in an area populated by immigrants. They rent apartments and houses sometimes multiple families living under one roof. I go to the gym early in the morning, and as early as 6 a.m. workers are going into 7-Eleven to get their coffee. One immigrant guy I know who works in a 7-Eleven works the graveyard shift every night, six nights a week. There’s a Mexican bakery near my veterinarian, and starting early in the morning the parking lot is half filled with work trucks. Studies have shown that immigrants start businesses at higher rates than native Americans. A guy around the corner Tomas started a used car dealership. His wife Isabela owns and operates a hair salon. Their oldest son graduated college last year. Their daughter Jenny completed two years of community college in one year while working full time. She’s now completing a four-year degree at a university on the way to law school. In addition to cluelessness, the authors add outright lies. They repeat the frequent lie that refugees must apply for asylum in the first country they reach. This is a blatant lie. According to the 1951 Refugee Convention (the “Convention”), anyone has the right to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim. There is nothing in international law to say that refugees must claim asylum in the first country they reach. Here’s another lie: The authors claim that the government admits that it has found hundreds of proven cases where illegal immigrants voted in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania both citizens and legal resident noncitizens are permitted to apply for a driver’s license. For years, an applicant was prompted to register to vote after applying for a driver’s license. This process only excluded 16 and 17 year olds but didn’t exclude nonresidents. As a result a number of noncitizens had registered to vote in Pennsylvania. This included only legal residents, not illegal aliens. And to the mix unsubstantiated claims like 80% of Central American women and girls are raped along the way. This came from an article in The Huff Post. The authors made absolutely no attempt to verify the claim before including it in their book. And of course the shuckin’ n’ jivin’. They claim that the Hebrew word for “stranger” means one who has obtained legal status so when Hebrews 13:2 says to give hospitality to strangers, you can exclude illegal aliens. When telling the story about Jesus feeding 5,000 people, the Bible leaves out the part about the disciples checking everyone’s papers. They also claim that 27% of federal prisoners are non-citizens to suggest that immigrants are more prone to commit crimes, but they leave out the fact that a much smaller percentage of inmates are non-citizens in state prisons, which hold far more prisoners. FactCheck dot org has it at 4%.I could go on like Lionel Ritchie, all night long, but I’m going to end it here. My fingers are tired. The most ignorant part of the book is the chapter about the authors’ solutions to the immigration problem. Every item involves keeping immigrants out. They of course want to build a wall and deport illegal aliens, but they also want to end immigration programs that are available to poor people, ban Muslims and end birthright citizenship. They leave out any provision for temporary and seasonal workers, but mostly it blatantly ignores the real problems.People risk their lives taking a journey from Central America through Mexico to get to the U.S. border enduring heat, discomfort and criminals with no place to sleep. This is done out of desperation whether fear of crime or extreme poverty. The conditions that some people in Central America have to endure are miserable, and people suffer and die and watch their family members die. Yet the authors who claim to be Christian think nothing of it except to build a big wall to keep these desperate poor people from interrupting their prosperous, easy lives. Disgusting.

15-Step Plan to Strengthen and Secure our Nation
Full disclosure: My brother is one of the bold authors who thoughtfully dissemble the complex issues of illegal immigration and provide sane, teachable arguments for promoting the legitimate self-interest of our nation’s citizens.“Immigration-An America First Manifesto” challenges the premise that we should accept terror attacks on our soil as a part of our life, and it’s the price we have to pay for diversity.Emphasizing safety first, Chapter 6: Mission America, has the 15-step plan to strengthen and secure our nation.Use Chapter 7, “How to Sell Reality to People Allergic to Facts,” as a primer for explaining to an open-borders advocate why illegal immigration has become a crisis in need of wise policy decisions. This book is for those of us who prefer to “take careful thought for the future (at the risk of being vilified in the present), rather than letting our descendants fend for themselves.”

Should be required high school reading
This book should be required reading in all high schools across the country. It is an eye-opening account of the history of immigration and when and where it all began to go wrong. Now that I am finished reading it, I am making my children read it.The letter to the authors’ grandparents was hella sweet too.

Hard to Find Books That Give You Information on the Issues
Immigration has been in the news with the issues of DACA, suspension of immigration from certain countries, and the separation of children from parents who claimed asylum and refugee status. Other books on this issue abound, but this is a perspective that says we have a protestant Christian culture to uphold, and current immigration practices (lack of enforcement of existing laws, especially) threatens this. I think the authors could have gone into why we don't necessarily need more people in our country and the toll it takes on the environment to support this many people, but that wasn't their main concern with immigration. Now, if they would tackle the issue of the rising cost of healthcare and economics of that industry, that would be a real eye opener, too!

The invasion is underway
In a nation stricken by the fascism of political correctness and afraid to ask questions, you need this book. Cheaper than going to California to see for yourself. I moved from there and this book is so true

Wake up. Be informed
Anyone who commutes and can not find the time to read yet choose to seek truth through research with facts about the immigration problem, read or listen to this. Wake up your mind

Not eye opening
In my opinion, "the politically incorrect guides to" books are overpriced for the little new information they provide.

It is hard to argue with facts.
The author presented his arguments both rationally and factually. What's more to ask for. It was an excellent highly educational read. It should be compulsory reading in all Western schools.
