Good quality brushes for therapuetic brushing.

I purchased the Wilbarger brush 6 pack. To say that I am pleased with my purchase is an understatement! Years ago, as a new OT, I worked with adults with severe cognitive problems as well as multiple sensory integration issues. To help our client's get the best treatment we could provide,, another OT and I attended a comprehensive conference on Sensory Processing Disorders. How fortunate we were that Pat Wilbarger herself was teaching her technique! We all received our brushes and the person I was assigned to demonstrate my new skill on was Pat Wilbarger herself! Let me say these brushes that I just received are exactly like the one I used on Pat. Of course you are not brushing the person/child, you are using the brush to apply pressure. These brushes meet the all the criteria for use in a clinical setting or at home by a trained caregiver/parent. Wonderful find on Amazon!

We use this with youth that struggle with self-harm. We have about half of the youth that it works for and the other half that it don't. We still feel its a product well worth trying.

Like a previous reviewer, I was surprised to find these on Amazon. My son has sensory issues and I have watched his occupational therapist use similar brushes on him with great effect. He really responds to brushing with these sensory brushes. We use them at night when he goes to bed if he's having a difficult time settling to sleep and it calms him down immediately. We have also given one to his school (he is in kindergarten) and the school psychologist comes and brushes him when the teacher requests it.At just slightly larger than 1 1/2 x 3 inches, they were a bit smaller than I expected, But they do the job. We don't have a handle and they work fine without one.

These are perfect for any kid with sensory issues or adhd. We were first introduced to them by his occupational therapist & were pleasantly surprised that we could get our own on amazon for an affordable price! My son has to have one in his bed for bedtime, he has one at school and one in his play room. It does wonders with calming him down
